Stephen Wiltshire spoke his first words, ‘pencil’ and ‘paper’ at five years old. At the age of eight, the late British Prime Minister Edward Heath commissioned Wiltshire to draw the Salisbury Cathedral. At 11 years old Wiltshire drew a perfect, intensely detailed picture of the London cityscape after a single helicopter ride. Perhaps it is not surprising that Wiltshire was diagnosed with autism, when he was three years old.

Using NASA’s Kepler space telescope, astronomers have witnessed an unprecedented event: a miniature celestial body getting ripped apart by the white dwarf star it orbits.
According to NASA, it confirms one of the more gruesome theories of the universe: that white dwarfs — small, dense stars that form when a star burns out or collapses — can “cannibalize” other planets still hanging around them.
“We are for the first time witnessing a miniature ‘planet’ ripped apart by intense gravity, being vaporized by starlight and raining rocky material onto its star,” said Andrew Vanderburg, graduate student at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and lead author of the paper published in Nature, according to the NASA press release.

It seems Mother Nature still has a few secrets up her sleeve.
In a study published in PLOS ONE this week, researchers announced the discovery of a new species of river dolphin in Brazil. The marine mammal is the first river dolphin to be described since 1918, the authors noted in the research.
Discovered in the Araguaia River basin, Inia araguaiaensis is believed to have diverged from river dolphins in the Amazon more than 2 million years ago due to a shift in the landscape. Unlike other river dolphins in Brazil, the newly discovered species has only 24 teeth per jaw, instead of the typical 25 to 29.

Dogs have never been known to shy away from charging into the water when walking along the beach – but when it comes to bath time, most are less obliging. These two delightful dachshund puppies, however, can hardly contain their excitement at the idea of jumping into a bathtub.
The adorable little dogs wait with almost unbearable excitement to be allowed upstairs.

A cold case more than 20 years old has finally been solved in the death of a teenage girl, with her alleged killer finally behind bars, cops said.
Jason Tibbs, a 38-year-old man from Indiana, is accused of killing his then 16-year-old girlfriend, Rayna Rison, back in 1993, the AP reported.
Rison’s disappearance gained national attention and was featured on “America’s Most Wanted.” Her car was found empty just a few miles outside of LaPorte, Indiana. A week after finding the car, police found Tibbs’ letterman jacket hanging up on a tree branch. A month later, fishermen found Rison’s body in a pond a few miles away from the car.
Following a lead, detectives questioned a former friend of Tibbs, Eric Freeman, two months ago. Freeman admitted to police he drove Tibbs to Rayna Rison’s workplace at the Pine Lake Animal Hospital, where he watched the alleged former couple argue.
