Looks like aerie is ready for its closeup — its unretouched closeup.
aerie, American Eagle’s sister store for lingerie, has launched aerie Real, a Spring 2014 ad campaign featuring all unairbrushed models. In a release on Friday, aerie announced that the ads are “challenging supermodel standards by featuring unretouched models in their latest collection of bras, undies and apparel.”
Spotlighting models sans Photoshop is a powerful move that most fashion brands, not to mention fashion magazines, rarely make. (Notable exceptions, made all the more so due to their infrequency, include Marie Claire’s 2010 cover with Jessica Simpson, Cate Blanchett on the cover of Intelligent Life in 2012 and Verily Magazine’s total ban on all airbrushing.)

Being one of the richest men in the world comes at a price.
AC Milan owner and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi — who split with second wife Veronica Lario in 2009 — has been ordered to pay his ex a whopping $4 million per month in alimony, the Associated Press reports.
According to the settlement paperwork filed Tuesday, Berlusconi will walk away with the couple’s Villa Belvedere estate located near Milan.
Lario announced she was leaving the Italian politician in 2009 after he attended the 18th birthday party of an aspiring model.

I was a 60 in the waist, a 7-XL in the shirt and very lazy. I was driving a Cadillac DeVille and had to have the driver’s seat moved back at an automotive shop. When I went by other people’s houses, I was always breaking chairs and furniture. It was very embarrassing. I was falling asleep at red lights.

Though we’re sure they have their reasons for existing, we consider moths to be the ‘black sheep’ cousin of butterflies. They have those dull wings, they eat our sweaters and they do things like lay eggs in carpets. (We’ll let that one sink in for a moment.) Moths also have a distinct way of startling you by flying spastically out of cupboards, closets and near light sources. No wonder we’ve seen an uptick of people asking for ways to get rid of moths.

Municipal budgets around the country have been squeezed tight in recent years, and a city official in one town allegedly exacerbated those financial woes to fund her horse breeding habit.
Rita Crundwell, the comptroller and treasurer of the small Illinois town of Dixon, was arrested Tuesday on charges of embezzling $33.2 million from city coffers, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The oldest red blood cells ever identified have been found in the body of Ötzi the Iceman, a 5,300-year-old mummy found in the Alps in 1991.
The bloody find is a first for Ötzi’s mummy, which has been under scientific scrutiny since a pair of hikers stumbled over the body frozen in ice on the Austrian-Italian border. And the new research, published today (May 1) in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface, helps confirm the story of Ötzi’s death.
