Scientists believe they have gotten one step closer to cracking the mystery of Amelia Earhart’s 1937 disappearance.
Measurements indicate that a partial skeleton found on a remote Pacific island in 1940 could have belonged to the pilot, researchers with The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery announced on Oct. 22.
The bones’ potential connection to Earhart was dismissed at the time because a British doctor said they belonged to a male. It wasn’t until 1998 that TIGHAR reviewed the doctor’s records and determined that they appear “consistent with a female of Earhart’s height and ethnic origin.”

Researchers believe measurements taken of skeletal remains found on a Pacific island are “virtually identical” to those of long-lost aviator Amelia Earhart.
Women might make up nearly half of all gamers, but they still face routine harassment and abuse in an industry overwhelmingly led by men. They don’t need another reminder that the people creating their hardware barely register that they exist. But on Tuesday, women in gaming witnessed yet another boneheaded display of toxic masculinity, a poignant reflection of the tech industry’s gender and diversity issues: hardware company Razer apparently throwing shade at Apple by telling it to suck its dick.
That collective groan you hear is Twitter asking, “Are you fucking kidding me?”
The tweet in question reads, “You call yourself Pro? S my D” — likely a reference to the new MacBook Pro’s lack of an SD card slot. Razer computers have SD ports. Hence the cute “S my D” line.
On Oct. 24, 18-year-old Selena Milian snatched the crown and became the homecoming queen at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, North Carolina, TransCafé reports. According to the news outlet, Milian felt “nothing but love and support” from her peers.
TransCafé also reported that Milian is the first transgender homecoming queen to be crowned statewide. Mic reached out to Milian but has not yet heard back.
“This is a military-based town, so it’s not always the most welcoming for trans people, but that hasn’t stopped me from being myself,” Milian told TransCafé.
The greatest miracle of the Internet is that it exists—the second greatest is that it persists. Every so often we’re reminded that bad actors wield great skill and have little conscience about the harm they inflict on the world’s digital nervous system. They invent viruses, botnets, and sundry species of malware. There’s good money to be made deflecting these incursions. But a small, tightly-knit community of computer scientists who pursue such work—some at cyber-security firms, some in academia, some with close ties to three-letter federal agencies—is also spurred by a sense of shared idealism and considers itself the benevolent posse that chases off the rogues and rogue states that try to purloin sensitive data and infect the Internet with their bugs. “We’re the Union of Concerned Nerds,” in the wry formulation of the Indiana University computer scientist L. Jean Camp.
In late spring, this community of malware hunters placed itself in a high state of alarm. Word arrived that Russian hackers had infiltrated the servers of the Democratic National Committee, an attack persuasively detailed by the respected cyber-security firm CrowdStrike. The computer scientists posited a logical hypothesis, which they set out to rigorously test: If the Russians were worming their way into the DNC, they might very well be attacking other entities central to the presidential campaign, including Donald Trump’s many servers. “We wanted to help defend both campaigns, because we wanted to preserve the integrity of the election,” says one of the academics, who works at a university that asked him not to speak with reporters because of the sensitive nature of his work.

When it comes to preventing pregnancy, there are plenty of contraceptive options — like birth control pills, implants and IUDs — designed for people with female reproductive systems. But for people with male reproductive systems? Sadly, not so much.
But that could change. An injectable contraceptive — the latest in a series of forays into birth control for people with penises — proved highly effective at preventing pregnancies in a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Despite various side effects — including mood disorders, acne and erectile dysfunction — a majority of the participants were happy with the birth control method, and said they’d use it if it were available.
“The study found it is possible to have a hormonal contraceptive for men that reduces the risk of unplanned pregnancies in the partners of men who use it,” researcher Mario Festin said, according to the BBC.
Apple ships each iPhone with a bundle of preloaded apps. They can get the job done in a pinch, but most of them are not very good. This could not be more true for the iPhone’s Mail app, which, like most native Apple apps, mistakes simplicity for limitedness.
Email is a conduit for the activities in our lives — both personal and professional. The iPhone’s mail app doesn’t sync information and files from apps like Dropbox or Google Calendar. Having access to these platforms is vital for efficiently organizing responsibilities. To streamline that process, its best to turn to a third-party email client. But which one? The answer is clear.
Microsoft Outlook is the best iPhone email map by far. The Verge agrees with that sentiment, writing: “Outlook honestly feels like a next-generation email app, something that will force its competitors to do a lot of work to catch up. If you want full control over your inbox and the services that surround it, Outlook is your only choice.”

Global wildlife populations have fallen by 58% since 1970, a report says.
The Living Planet assessment, by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and WWF, suggests that if the trend continues that decline could reach two-thirds among vertebrates by 2020.
The figures suggest that animals living in lakes, rivers and wetlands are suffering the biggest losses.
Human activity, including habitat loss, wildlife trade, pollution and climate change contributed to the declines.

Legendary Nigerian photographer and publisher of Style Mania Magazine, Kelechi Amadi-Obi seems to have found his own Olajumoke who was unearthed by another Nigerian photographer, TY Bello whiles on set with Brtish musician Tinie Tempah, a few months earlier or let’s just say Bukola’s prayers have been heard by a good God.
Olajumoke the bread seller after her encounter with the renowned photographer has gone on to become an international sensation landing interviews with several media publications, billboards and brand ambassador roles.
Bukola, a pillow seller is the latest street vendor whose star will be exploding pretty soon in the fashion and modelling industry. Kelechi Amadi-Obi recounted how she met the “diamond in the rough” whiles shooting Jidenna on Broad Street in Marina, a suburb of Lagos and asked her to call him if the was interested in modelling.
In the world, human beings are facing various problems. People who are full of greed, anger, and ignorance are seen to be fighting with each other in words and deeds. As the fighting continues, various problems such as civil wars, wars of aggression, and wars of aggression are occurring. As world peace is being destroyed, humans are facing unbearable problems. Innocent children and women are not getting the rights they deserve and deserve. I can't think of one thing every time. What is it? The United Nations. If we look at the responsibilities and duties of the United Nations, I think it is not suitable for solving the problems that are happening in the world today. In fact, the United Nations and the World Security Council, such an organization must rule the world, must be able to give orders, and must have various ways to obey orders. There must be no organization that can influence more than that organization. There should be experts from each country. They can even dominate the superpowers like the US, China, and Britain. Only then will global peace be achieved quickly. Now, if a country with power develops more militarily, economically, or socially than its own country, then powerful countries will jealously seek out enemies and wage war. Or they will attack with fighter jets. In this, innocent people are losing their lives. No one understands the value of a life. You should think about how to achieve global peace by controlling these. If the US continues to be the permanent president of the UN, world peace will never be achieved. If you think carefully, no one sees that they are working for the common good, but for their own benefit, for the benefit of their own country. The permanent president of the UN and the Security Council has rejected this, As a young Rohingya, I have come to realize that only by electing the president and secretary from among the countries in the world through a secret ballot system and governing the world fairly can we achieve global peace. The United Nations and the Security Council are organizations in which any country must govern, give orders, and make them obey their orders. For example, only when a defendant is tried in court can we hold the leaders of the countries in check and control them, can we achieve global peace smoothly. Otherwise, it will not be easy for powerful countries to use various excuses to end this war every year, every year, for the benefit of themselves and their countries. No country's leaders pay any attention to the words of the United Nations and the Security Council. If we look at it in practice, look at the Rohingya issue. Myanmar is a small country. Even that country has been under siege for 8 years. What action can be taken? Why is the UN and the Security Council Powerless? Without such Power, how can the organization bring about global peace? Everyone should think about it. Whether there is a veto or a strong one, all countries in the world can only achieve global peace if they are subject to the UN and the Security Council. Seek peace in the quiet embrace of nature. Peace is an indispensable need of the human race. It is not as if one person can kill another person, and it is as if one country can attack another country, but instead of trying to build peace, we must try to destroy the peace now, and the world is getting hotter and is on the verge of collapse. I especially appeal to all the world experts to urgently try to bring about peace in all parts of the world. Mr, Noor Muhamed Arkhan Rohingya Youth Myanmar
