I know you’d like to think that your shit don’t stink, but if you lean a little bit closer, you might learn a little bit more about your health.

It’s true: While you might be the type to flush it and forget it, the next time you hit the loo to do your business, check out what’s in the bowl. The texture, shape and color of your dung can hint at things like dehydration, undetected illnesses and dietary deficiencies. If you’re excreting hard, pebbly poops, for example, you may be lacking in the fiber and fluid departments.

Why does my face look so terrible when I don’t sleep enough?

There’s a million reasons to get a good night’s rest, but one of them is the simple fact that people tend to look terrible when they’re exhausted.

In fact, a recently published study in the journal Sleep showed that eyes get more swollen and red, eyelids get droopier and skin gets more wrinkled when people skimp on shuteye. Meanwhile, another study showed that getting eight hours of sleep makes faces appear more attractive and healthier, compared with the faces of people who stay up all night.

But why do the eyes and skin on our face seem so affected by sleep (or lack thereof)?

But over the years, as Pittsburgh has evolved from a steel city of the industrial boom into a modern mecca of culture and education, many consider it a hidden gem. In fact, it has even been named as Forbes’ most livable U.S. City. What’s more, a 2012 survey found that residents in the Pittsburgh area rated their happiness as a 7.8 out of 10, compared to the 7.4 national average. While Pittsburghers still have room for improvement in the health department (despite some gains, they have one of the highest air pollution rates nation-wide, for one), there are more than a few things to be gleaned from Pennsylvania’s second-largest city.

Meet Felton Campbell And Mike Huard, Bodybuilding Grandpas

Among the bulging pecs and rippling thighs on display at the 2013 Oregon Ironman Competition, Felton Campbell and Mike Huard’s stood out. At 61 and 62 respectively, the two were the oldest competitors there, going toe to toe with 242 men more than half their age.

Though Campbell took first place over his friend in the competition’s Masters Men Over 60 category, the two aren’t just competing within their age group. “Right now, me and Mike’s goal is to beat someone in their 40s,” Campbell said. “You’re never too old.”

“Here’s where [age] works to our advantage — it’s because we’re mature, we’ve been through all the testosterone spurts, we’re having fun and it’s keeping us really healthy,” Huard added.

The pair join a fit group of other post-50 bodybuilders making jaws drop: world’s oldest female bodybuilder, Ernestine Shepherd, and vegan bodybuilder Jim Morris.
