One of the terrorists who slaughtered 14 people at a California office’s holiday party was furious that her Muslim husband had to attend the festive luncheon, which was studded with Christmas decorations, police said.
Days before San Bernardino health inspector Syed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, launched their grisly terror attack on the county health department’s holiday celebration, Malik wrote online that she didn’t feel it was appropriate to mix work and holidays.
“She didn’t think that a Muslim should have to participate in a non-Muslim holiday or event,” San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan told ABC News of Malik’s online terror prelude.

Three days before a historic election, a disturbing twist has emerged: the possibility that agents in the country’s preeminent investigative service are attempting to swing the outcome.
Reuters reported on Thursday that FBI Director James Comey wrote his unprecedented letter to Congress last week in part because he feared his own employees might leak word of the Hillary Clinton email investigation to the press. Two sources told Reuters that investigators in the FBI’s New York field office are “known to be hostile” to Clinton. On Thursday, The Guardian reported its sources described the FBI as a “Trumpland,” where agents have “deep antipathy” toward Clinton.
Those reports follow a whirlwind week of leaks from the FBI that appear intended to cast a shadow over Clinton.

In a letter to FBI employees explaining why he’d alerted Congress about newly discovered emails pertaining to Hillary Clinton, bureau Director James Comey stressed he understood the “significant risk” with going public so close to an election.
“Given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression,” he wrote, adding that his desire to keep the public abreast with developments superseded that concern.
Less than 24 hours after Comey tried to calm nerves at the FBI, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump proved his fears to be justified and raised additional questions about why he went public in the first place.

Something strange happened Friday after the FBI director’s bombshell revelation of newly obtained emails that he said may be relevant to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server: The presidential campaigns of Democrat Clinton and Republican Donald Trump found common ground.
Both camps demanded that FBI Director James Comey disclose more details about the emails and the bureau’s investigation, which he made known in a letter to Congress just 11 days before the election.
“FBI Director Comey should immediately provide the American public more information than is contained in the letter he sent to eight Republican committee chairmen,” Clinton campaign chair John Podesta said in a statement that called Comey’s move “extraordinary.”

A federal judge in Brooklyn says the FBI cannot force Apple to open a locked iPhone used by a suspected drug dealer.
The ruling is a boost to Apple in the public opinion war with the federal government over access to locked devices. Though it is not binding on a judge in California who is now considering the separate case of access to a force Apple to open a locked iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino attackers, it gives the company a leg up, and Apple will be sure to cite it in that ongoing dispute.
The massacre in San Bernardino, Calif., left 14 people dead, and investigators searching for answers.

A Houston-area teenager accused of killing a girl in a satanic ritual had gouged out her eye as she begged for her life, prosecutors said Monday during the opening of the teen’s capital murder trial.
Opening statements began in the trial of 18-year-old Jose E. Reyes, who prosecutors say is responsible for the February death of 15-year-old Corriann Cervantes in a vacant apartment southeast of Houston.
A 16-year-old boy also is charged with capital murder and is expected to stand trial later.

They say evidence of occultism was found on the girl’s body and in the vacant apartment where she was found. Authorities did not provide further details. Harris County jail records show 17-year-old Reyes was being held without bond Tuesday. A 16-year-old boy also was also charged and remains in custody awaiting an appearance in | ASSOCIATED PRESS

Nearly 170 victims of child sex trafficking, many of whom had never been reported missing, were rescued in the last week as part of an annual nationwide crackdown, the FBI said Monday.
Besides the 168 children rescued from the sex trade, 281 pimps were arrested during the same period on state and federal charges.
“These are not faraway kids in faraway lands,” FBI Director James Comey said in announcing the annual enforcement push known as Operation Cross Country. Instead, he added, “These are America’s children.”

A newlywed accused of pushing her husband off a cliff when she had second thoughts about her marriage may have blindfolded him before the fatal act, prosecutors say.
The new theory suggests that Jordan Linn Graham pre-meditated the alleged murder of Cody Lee Johnson, her husband of eight days.
Defense attorneys for Graham, 22, claim that the state has provided no evidence of a blindfold, according to court documents obtained by CNN. Prosecutors are awaiting DNA test results on a piece of cloth discovered in the vicinity of Johnson’s body, the Missoulian reports.
The blindfold theory flies in the face of Graham’s claim that her husband’s death was an accident. As a result, Graham and her attorneys want her scheduled December trial postponed, claiming that they are unprepared to offer a proper defense. Graham previously pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

The FBI has issued wanted posters for a man they say is behind an eBay car scam that has netted $3m (£1.8m).
Authorities in the US also want to track down six other fugitives in relation to the charges.
The gang were described as “masters of illusion” who convinced people to pay for cars that did not exist.
“They thought their distance would insulate them from law enforcement scrutiny. They were wrong,” said US attorney Loretta Lynch.
Convincing schemeThe FBI put out a wanted poster for 33-year-old Romanian Nicolae Popescu, charging him with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering.
“They siphoned funds from victims to fuel their greedy desires and created false identities, fake websites and counterfeit certificates of title in order to make the scheme more convincing,” said FBI Assistant Director, George Venizelos.
