A man accused in the fatal shooting of an aspiring rapper killed as he drove his Maserati on the Las Vegas Strip last week has been arrested in the Los Angeles area, Las Vegas print and television media reported on Thursday.
Kenneth Wayne Cherry, 27, was fatally wounded in the shooting, and his silver Maserati veered into a taxicab, killing the driver and his passenger when it exploded into flames.
Spokesmen for the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff said they had no immediate information on an arrest in the high-profile case. A Las Vegas police spokeswoman could not immediately confirm the arrest.

Las Vegas police have located and interviewed a woman they identified as a person of interest in the Las Vegas strip attack that killed rapper Kenny Clutch in his Maserati and two other people in a taxi.
Police were searching for Tineesha Lashun Howard, 22, in addition to prime suspect and fugitive Ammar Harris, 26, who is the subject of a nationwide manhunt.
Howard’s criminal record includes arrests for soliciting prostitution, trespass, possession of a stolen vehicle and grand larceny trick roll, which is when a prostitute steals money or other property from a customer.

Turns out that 2013 is, indeed, a Leap Year.
Leap Motion, the company that makes the hotly anticipated gesture-control device of the same name, announced Wednesday morning that the first Leap Motion units would ship to pre-orderers around the world on May 13, and that everyone could get their hands (and fingers) on one on May 19.
If you want one, you can order on Leap Motion’s website here or, somewhat curiously, on BestBuy.com right here. The Leap Motion Controller costs $80 at either outlet.
For a refresher, the Leap Motion controller plugs into almost any newer laptop and allows you to manipulate the screen via a series of hand and finger movements in the air. It’s sort of like having a touchscreen computer, but without actually touching the screen.

The Leap Motion Controller, which allows gesture control of both Mac and Windows laptops, will be released in May for $80. (Leap Motion)

Reusing everyday items can lead to a good deal of savings over time. Here, our experts discuss ways to repurpose common objects that are both useful in the kitchen and budget-friendly.
For instance, when you buy a bunch of oranges, think twice before tossing those mesh produce bags. With three of them you can make a handy and effective scrub sponge for free. First, cut off the tags and labels. Then, take a bag and tie a knot on one end. Next, stuff it with two more bags, and then knot the other end. You’ll have a great scrubber in seconds.

How did the largest of all dinosaurs evolve necks longer than any other creature that has ever lived? One secret: mostly hollow neck bones, researchers say.
The largest creatures to ever walk the Earth were the long-necked, long-tailed dinosaurs known as the sauropods. These vegetarians had by far the longest necks of any known animal. The dinosaurs’ necks reached up to 50 feet (15 meters) in length, six times longer than that of the current world-record holder, the giraffe, and at least five times longer than those of any other animal that has lived on land.

A bus driver who admits sexually assaulting and videotaping the special needs children he transported in New Hampshire and Maine has been sentenced to 160 years in prison.
Forty-six-year-old Milton, N.H., resident John Wright received the maximum sentence Friday after pleading guilty in September to five counts of sexually exploiting children and one count of possessing child pornography.
Investigators say Wright drove special needs children from Strafford and Rockingham counties in New Hampshire and from nearby Kittery, Maine. They say they found thousands of images of child pornography on his computer.

A search that set parents in the Denver area on edge last fall, had neighbors casting a suspicious eye on neighbors, and left a family grieving the loss of a 10-year-old ended with the teen suspect telling a 911 dispatcher: “I murdered Jessica Ridgeway. I have proof that I did it.”
He told the 911 dispatcher that some of Jessica’s remains were in the crawl space at his mother’s house, according to a recording of the Oct. 23 call played in court during his preliminary hearing Friday. Fifth-grader Jessica disappeared Oct. 5 after she left her house to meet a schoolmate two blocks away so they could walk to school together.

Last week, a New Zealand coroner linked the 2010 death of Natasha Harris, a 31-year-old mother of eight, to health complications brought on by her excessive consumption of Coca-Cola.
The coroner, David Crerar, did not hold the Coca-Cola company responsible for the woman’s death. However, he recommended that warning labels be placed on soft drinks in an effort to educate the public about the health risks associated with overconsumption of sugary, caffeinated beverages.

3D printing could become one the biggest innovations during the next decade. Imagine every home in America using the 3D printing technology whenever something breaks or is needed in the household. Space exploration could benefit from the technology to cut costs and weight when traveling to the Moon or Mars. Instead of bringing a tool or instrument to Mars, why not simply print it out once you get there?
