Even as controversy continues over President Donald Trump’s tweet of a video showing him beating up a personified version of CNN, a poll released Tuesday shows the cable news outlet edging him in trust among most Americans.
The survey also showed the New York Times, Washington Post and the broadcast television networks faring better than Trump in trustworthiness. But the poll, conducted by Survey Monkey and published by Axios, also illustrates the stark political divide in the U.S.
The poll, conducted between last Thursday and Monday, showed that 50 percent of American adults trust CNN more than Trump, with 43 percent favoring the president. Trump posted his disparaging CNN tweet on Sunday.

Food waste is a global problem: One-third of food produced for human consumption (that’s 1.3 billion tons) gets lost or wasted every year. Not only is it an expensive waste of resources, but it is an insulting reality to live with considering 795 million people — one in nine people — suffer from chronic undernourishment.
Now, researchers at Cornell University have found a way to turn food waste into something useful. In the journal Bioresource Technology, the engineers outline a two-step process that converts tossed away ingredients into fuel.
“Food waste should have a high value. We’re treating it as a resource, and we’re making marketable products out of it,” Roy Posmanik, a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University and lead author of the study, said in a statement. “Food waste is still carbon – a lot of carbon.”

A Pennsylvania man has been charged with the murder of a recent high school graduate during a road rage dispute last week.
David Desper, 28, turned himself in to authorities early Sunday, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said at a press conference that morning. He was charged with first- and third-degree murder, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangering in the slaying of 18-year-old Bianca Roberson in West Goshen Township last Wednesday.
“This is a story of a savage and senseless murder,” Hogan said Sunday. “Bianca Roberson, 18 years old, gunned down because somebody didn’t want to give way, somebody didn’t want her to merge into a lane of traffic.”

Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry has agreed to a five-year, $201 million extension — the richest contract in league history — with the Golden State Warriors, his agent Jeff Austin of Octagon told ESPN.
Curry is the first NBA star who will sign a supermax contract, the crossing of a $200 million threshold that eventually will become the norm for the NBA’s biggest superstars.
Golden State general manager Bob Myers said Friday that the Warriors will finalize the contract once the free-agency moratorium ends Thursday.
An eight-year veteran, Curry has been the foundational star for the Warriors, who recently won their second NBA championship in three years.
