“Zero Dark Thirty” screenwriter Mark Boal did not receive classified documents from the Obama administration. That’s the word from Boal himself in a new interview with the ABC News show “Nightline.”
“I certainly did a lot of homework, but I never asked for classified material. To my knowledge I never received any,” Boal said in the interview, which is set to air on Monday night. “As far as the controversy goes — how can I put this? — it was an election year. It was real and bizarre to have major players in the Republican party characterizing the script and the movie before I had even written a word. I found that really baffling.”

Several Harvard students received a racist pamphlet on Friday advertising a club to which ‘no f***ing jews’ were allowed but “coloreds” were “ok” the Harvard Crimson reported.
The pamphlets, which were delivered in sealed envelopes under students’ dorm room doors, advertised “Harvard’s Newest Final Club” i.e. one of Harvard’s 14 single sex social clubs. The club, called the “Pigeon” (perhaps a play on the Final Club propensity to name their establishments after animals) was ostensibly promoting a party situated in a local frozen yogurt shop. The attire was dubbed “Semi-bro.”

Atari’s celebrating 40 years of arcade classic Pong today by releasing … another version of Pong. Pong World is being dubbed “the first-ever official new Pong game on iOS” (despite our search of the App Store dictating the contrary), but more importantly, it’s totally free and it’s already available on the iOS App Store (see gameplay below the break). The iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch game started life as one of many entries in Atari’s “Pong Indie Developer Challenge,” which pitted devs against each other for $50K and lead representation on the big four-zero celebration.

Watch game developer Kevin Slavin’s TEDTalk above and then explore his thoughts in this companion essay.
Back at TEDGlobal, the most difficult aspect of preparation was the editing process, chipping away at three hours of material to cut it down into 14 live minutes.
Of all the darlings that were killed, the ones I missed most were a few minutes about genetic algorithms. Like everything I presented, it’s a subject for which I have interest and passion, not training or expertise. It’s going to seem very dull. But stay with me for a few of the missing minutes.

With his truly spectacular optical illusions, Brusspup is more of a magician than an artist — it’s all about the reveal.
In his latest video, the Youtube user with the tagline “Illusions and Science” forgoes his usual animated illusions for 3D drawings of household items.
From a certain angle, the Rubik’s Cube, blue roll of tape and a sneaker appear to be real. But when Brusspup turns the paper, the items that appear to be three-dimensional turn out to be meticulously crafted anamorphic art.

Memoto CEO and co-founder Martin Källström is building a postage-stamp-sized wearable camera that can document every moment of his life — or yours — by snapping two photos a minute, 1,920 pictures a day.
This “lifelogging” camera, which will automatically take a photo every 30 seconds and save it to a private site (a daily total of 1,920 assumes eight hours sleep), has received $509,000 in backing from more than 2,600 funders on Kickstarter. The project hit its initial $75,000 fundraising goal in a matter of hours. The Memoto camera is currently in development and slated to ship in February 2013.
