The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, performed the ceremony in front of family and close friends of the duke and duchess, in the castle’s private chapel.
Archie’s gown is a handmade replica made by Angela Kelly, dressmaker to the Queen.
It is based on the original robe commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841, which was made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, a spokeswoman said.
The duke and duchess had been criticised for holding the event without the press or public seeing any elements of the day and for keeping the identities of Archie’s godparents secret.
International Day of the Girl Child, which is also known as the International Day of the Girl and the Day of the Girl, was launched by the United Nations on October 11, 2012. Every year the day is observed to bring focus on gender inequality and creating more opportunities for girls. It aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by girls across the world including domestic violence, discrimination and child marriage. Inequality also includes violence against girls and right to education. Across the world, over 62 million girls have no access to education. Girls are also vulnerable to sexual violence. The International Day of the Girl Child is observed to address all these issues and promote fulfillment of girl’s rights and girl’s empowerment.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) says President Donald Trump is a predator ― and that, as an ex-prosecutor, she’s the candidate to take him down in next year’s election.
Speaking in Iowa, the 2020 Democratic hopeful said:
“I took on successfully and I prosecuted the big banks when they preyed on homeowners. I prosecuted the pharmaceutical companies when they preyed on seniors. I have prosecuted transnational criminal organizations when they preyed on women and children. I know predators, and we have a predator living in the White House.”
Harris said Trump has a “predatory nature and predatory instincts” and that predators “prey on the vulnerable,” according to the Des Moines Register.

Chernobyl has become a byword for catastrophe. The 1986 nuclear disaster, recently brought back into the public eye by the hugely popular TV show of the same name, caused thousands of cancers, turned a once populous area into a ghost city, and resulted in the setting up of an exclusion zone 2600km² in size.
But Chernobyl’s exclusion zone isn’t devoid of life. Wolves, boars and bears have returned to the lush forests surrounding the old nuclear plant. And when it comes to vegetation, all but the most vulnerable and exposed plant life never died in the first place, and even in the most radioactive areas of the zone, vegetation was recovering within three years.
Humans and other mammals and birds would have been killed many times over by the radiation that plants in the most contaminated areas received. So why is plant life so resilient to radiation and nuclear disaster?
“It’s good to be in something from the ground floor. I came too late for that, I know. But lately, I’m getting the feeling that I came in at the end.” —Tony Soprano
You’re wrong about that one, Tony. It may be that no TV show does anything entirely new — change always builds on change. But “The Sopranos” was as clear a marker of the beginning of an era (even if I hate the term “Golden Age”) as anything in TV.
Before “The Sopranos,” yes, TV dramas could take risks (“Twin Peaks”) and tell stories about difficult people (“NYPD Blue”). But after the ducks landed in Tony’s backyard pool in January 1999, an immense flock followed. TV series, we saw, could rely on audiences to pay close attention to a long-running story. They could have high visual and narrative ambitions. They could resist quick answers (or any answers, in the case of the Russian from “Pine Barrens”) and tidy moral conclusions.

Hey, we’re with you. Given half a chance, we’d much rather hit the road than the armchair. Nothing can replace the intensity of authentic experience. Yet experience needs shape and wisdom and behind every great adventure are the stories that inspired it. We read before we go; and after we arrive, free and clear in far-flung terrain and edgy places, we invariably find echoes of the voices that led us there.
The following list is devoted to books that offer the truest inspiration, the deepest reflection, the strongest provocation. These are books that seize imaginations and rattle sedentary lives
