But some Republicans spoke out against Trump, using his name directly to emphasize that they don’t agree with what he said in Trump Tower.
.
During his news conference, Trump blamed “both sides” in the protests and equated the white supremacists on one side with the counter-protesters on the other side.
Some Republicans, to avoid more conflict, denounced racism after Trump’s news conference — and some indirectly referred to his statements when they called him out.

One of the reasons a total solar eclipse is possible is because of an amazing cosmic coincidence: the Sun is four hundred times larger than the Moon but is also four hundred times farther away. This makes them seem like they are relatively the same size from our perspective here on Earth.

Premiums for the most popular health insurance plans would shoot up 20 percent next year, and federal budget deficits would increase by $194 billion in the coming decade if President Trump carries out his threat to end certain subsidies paid to insurance companies for the benefit of low-income people, the Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday.
The subsidies reimburse insurers for reducing deductibles, copayments, and other out-of-pocket costs that low-income people pay when they visit doctors, fill prescriptions, or receive care in hospitals.
Even before efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act collapsed in the Senate last month, Trump began threatening to cut off the subsidies, called cost-sharing reductions. He said the health care law would “implode” and Democrats would have no choice but to negotiate a replacement plan. Trump described his strategy as, “Let Obamacare implode, then deal.”

The head of the AFL-CIO has stepped down from the White House’s manufacturing council after President Trump doubled down on his position that violence in Charlottesville was perpetrated by many sides at a press conference Tuesday.
Richard Trumka said in a statement posted on Twitter that he “cannot sit on a council for a President who tolerates bigotry and domestic terrorism,” and called Tuesday’s remarks “the last straw.”
The statement was jointly issued by Thea Lee, an economist who previously served as deputy chief of staff at the AFL-CIO. She also resigned from the council.

If Isaac Newton suddenly popped out of a time machine, he’d be delighted to see how far physics had come. Things that were deeply mysterious a few centuries ago are now taught in freshman physics classes (the composition of stars is one good example).
Newton would be stunned to see enormous experiments like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Switzerland — and possibly perturbed to learn that his theory of gravity had been superseded by one dreamed up by some fellow named Einstein. Quantum mechanics would probably strike him as bizarre, though today’s scientists feel the same way.
But once he was up to speed, Newton would no doubt applaud what modern physics has achieved — from the discovery of the nature of light in the 19th Century to determining the structure of the atom in the 20th Century to last year’s discovery of gravitational waves. And yet physicists today are the first to admit they don’t have all the answers. “There are basic facts about the universe that we’re ignorant of,” says Dr. Daniel Whiteson, a University of California physicist and the co-author of the new book “We Have No Idea: A Guide to the Unknown Universe.”

Earlier this month one of Ghana’s renowned and talented photography names, Emmanuel Bobbie of Bobpixel photography turned 41. (Happy belated birthday Uncle Bob)
If you asked me I think that’s quite a young age for a man who has accomplished so much in his life as a photographer. In 2005, a young Bobbie moved to Ghana to begin working as lensman after working and living in the United Kingdom for a number of years.
According to him, the passion for photography had always been with him especially during his days as a Graphic and design student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where reading a course in photography was not negotiable.
In his 2014 interview with Obed Boafo’s Enewsgh.com, the man who has his works spread across the city, on people’s phones, laptops and the nation as a whole admits that it wasn’t as rosy when he begun shooting despite the few number of professionals in the industry.
“The digital age had just started and there weren’t a lot of people in the industry like there is now. It was late 2005 when I came in and I heard a few names, and these were guys who were into photography for certain people. I didn’t have a place in the industry so I had to start shooting weddings and self-projects and people started seeing my works and it took off from there.” He recalls.

“Look at the campaign he ran,” Signer said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Signer called on everyone to join together to recognize and combat racism, adding that the effort should include Trump.
White supremacist demonstrators clashed with counterprotesters in the Virginia city on Saturday, with the violence culminating with a man ramming a car through a group of counterprotesters. Authorities said the attack injured 19 and killed one.

Susan Bro sat in her darkened home on Sunday, tearing up as she smiled.
She was thinking fondly of her daughter, 32-year-old Heather Heyer, who was killed in Charlottesville, Virginia, the day before, when a man drove his car into protesters against the “Unite the Right” rally, a gathering of white supremacist groups.
Heather, a paralegal who lived in Charlottesville, was determined to stand up to injustice, her mother told HuffPost. There was no question that she would protest throngs of neo-Nazis and other extremists who had descended on her town.
“She always had a very strong sense of right and wrong. She always, even as a child, was very caught up in what she believed to be fair,” Bro said. “Somehow I almost feel that this is what she was born to be, is a focal point for change. I’m proud that what she was doing was peaceful. She wasn’t there fighting with people.”

President Trump denounced the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis by name Monday, declaring racist hate groups “repugnant to all that we hold dear as Americans,” as he sought to tamp down mounting criticism of his response to the killing of a counterprotester at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville over the weekend.
“Anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable,” Trump said in brief remarks to reporters in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House, where he returned after a week of vacation in Bedminster, N.J. “We condemn in the strongest possible terms the egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence. It has no place in America.”
Trump added: “Racism is evil and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to all that we hold dear as Americans.”
