Eyjafjallajokull is a strato volcano. It is a conical volcano built by many layers of hardened lava, tephra, pumice and volcanic ash. Strata volcanoes are among the most common volcanoes. Due to the glacier on top of Eyjafjallajokull eruptions are explosive and contain much ash.

Even More Evidence That We’re Eating All Wrong

From the glorious gluttony that is the turducken, to the gustatory pleasures (#foodporn) that make up so many Instagram photos, Americans sure do know how to eat. What to eat—that is, what we should be eating to stay healthy—remains somewhat elusive. We’re told that Veganism, the meat-heavy Paleo Diet, and the somewhere-in-the-middle Mediterranean Diet are all good for us, contradictions be damned.
But two studies in The Lancet on nutrition and cardiovascular health—examining which diets made people most prone to develop or even die from major heart-related diseases—are shedding some light on the situation. Their conclusions? While we’ve long been told we should lay off the fat, the new studies support the growing school of thought that too many carbohydrates pose the real threat. And while we should still try to consume fruits and vegetables—preferably raw—we may need fewer servings per day than the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) currently recommends.

For most people, a summer trip to France is a chance to relax in beautiful surroundings and to savor the country’s fine food. For Tom Rice of San Diego, it’s an opportunity to relive the time he nearly died jumping from a C-47 Douglas airplane, then was shot at, again and again..Despite being 97, Rice climbed once more into the bone-rattling fuselage of a C-47 and, while flying over the Normandy fields where he first saw action in 1944, leaped into the unknown..Those on the ground watched the anxiety-inducing descent as, strapped to another parachutist dangling beneath a red, white and blue canopy, the old man coasted through the sky, another gigantic American flag billowing out behind him.

A venture capitalist who is also a minority owner of the Golden State Warriors was banned by the team from attending any of the remaining NBA Finals games and fined $500,000 after he shoved a Toronto Raptors player who fell into the crowd.
During Wednesday night’s Game 3 with the Raptors and Warriors, S-Curbed Capital managing partner Mark Stevens was caught on camera pushing Kyle Lowry’s shoulder after the Raptors point guard fell into people sitting courtside while trying to save the ball.
Lowry was seen in video posted on social media pointing at Stevens and shaking his head as he walked back onto the court. Stevens was then escorted from his seat.

Here is how fast America is changing: By the time today’s teenagers hit their 30s, there will be — for the first time ever — more minorities than whites, more old people than children, and more people practicing Islam than Judaism.
The big picture: The slow demographic shifts we’ve watched over decades will finally reach a tipping point in the 2040s. They’ll transform what America looks like, where we live and what we fear.

In the six games prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Draymond Green was nothing short of spectacular, averaging 14.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.9 blocks on 48.7% shooting.
In 41 minutes in Game 3, he lacked the same punch, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and four turnovers on 6-of-14 shooting, telling reporters he had to be better, especially on a night where Steph Curry went off for a playoff career-high 47 points.
“I think if I played better with the night that he [Stephen Curry] had, we would have won,” Green said post-game when asked about Curry’s big night.
