Hillary Clinton’s campaign is increasingly preparing for the possibility that Donald Trump may never concede the presidential election should she win, a development that could enormously complicate the crucial early weeks of her preparations to take office.
Aiming to undermine any argument the Republican nominee may make about a “rigged” election, she hopes to roll up a large electoral vote margin in next month’s election. That could repudiate the New York billionaire’s message and project a governing mandate after the bitter, divisive presidential race.
Clinton’s team is also keeping a close eye on statements by national Republican leaders, predicting they could play an important role in how Trump’s accusations of electoral fraud might be perceived. That’s according to several Clinton campaign aides, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss internal strategy.

Donald Trump was on his way to his best performance in a presidential debate Wednesday night ― right up to the moment when he refused, twice, to say he would respect the results of November’s presidential election.
It overshadowed everything else that happened on the stage in Las Vegas and arguably told voters everything they need to know about the Republican nominee for president.
Trump’s answer shouldn’t have surprised anybody. For the last two weeks or so, Trump has been going on and on about “rigged” elections, riling up his supporters by warning that Hillary Clinton and her allies were trying to steal the election.
The argument has drawn widespread condemnation, even from fellow Republicans ― partly because his warnings of ballot stuffing in heavily minority cities have such obvious racial overtones, and partly because his pre-emptive questioning of the election results is way outside of the norms of American politics.

The final presidential debate here on Wednesday is teed up to be one of the nastiest and dirtiest in recent memory. Donald Trump is desperately trying to regain ground as he attacks women accusing him of sexual assault and sets up his supporters to believe that if Hillary Clinton wins, it means the election was rigged.
Trump is set to encounter a boisterous and hostile reception when he steps off his plane in Las Vegas. Workers at his own hotel will be picketing before and after their shifts on Tuesday, and union members will be constructing a wall of taco trucks outside his hotel on the day of the debate ― a reminder that it’s not only women he’s offended.
Clinton will also find resistance in this battleground state, as an ad in the local newspaper, shared by a Huffington Post reader, makes clear. The ad urges people to buy guns before “Crooked Hillary” wins in November.

The main pretext Republican senators have offered for leaving open the Supreme Court seat of the late Justice Antonin Scalia is that the next president, not Barack Obama, should be the one to fill it.
But now that his party’s nominee, Donald Trump, seems headed for a loss in November, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) appears to be changing his tune ― and may be signaling that more unprecedented obstruction is on the horizon if Hillary Clinton wins the White House.
“I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up. I promise you,” McCain said Monday, according to CNN.

At a rally in Iowa on Tuesday, a Donald Trump supporter said she’s “ready for a revolution” if Hillary Clinton wins the election.
Speaking to Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, the unnamed supporter said she was “scared” of voter fraud, which has become one of Trump’s talking points as his poll numbers have plunged. When the woman mentioned voter fraud, the audience cheered and clapped.
“There’s a lot of us that are out here saying that we go to vote, we’re gonna wear red,” she said, adding:
“Our lives depend on this election. Our kids’ futures depends on this election. I will tell you, just for me ― and I don’t want this to happen ― but I will tell you for me personally, if Hillary Clinton gets in, I myself, I’m ready for a revolution, because we can’t have her in.”

Anyone waiting to hear contrition from Donald Trump about recently leaked audio of him bragging that his celebrity allowed him to grab women by their genitals will just have to keep waiting.
When the question inevitably came up at the second presidential debate Sunday night, Trump tried to minimize its significance, repeating the phrase that he put out shortly after the audio was released on Friday ― “locker room talk” – while appearing to dispute that those actions constitute sexual assault.
“No, I didn’t say that at all,” Trump said about the sexual assault description by moderator Anderson Cooper. “I don’t think you understand what was said.”

Michelle Obama offered a pointed critique of Donald Trump’s temperament on Wednesday, arguing that “a president can’t just pop off” when he or she is upset.
Speaking at a rally in Philadelphia for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the first lady challenged Trump’s claim from Monday’s debate that he has a “much better temperament” than Clinton. While Obama didn’t mention Trump by name, the target of her condemnation was clear.
“When it comes to the qualifications we should demand in a president, to start with, we need someone who will take the job seriously. Someone who will study and prepare so that they understand the issues better than anyone on their team,” Obama said. “We need someone who is steady and measured, because when making life-or-death, war-or-peace decisions, a president can’t just pop off or lash out irrationally. No, we need an adult in the White House.”

“Why Is Clinton disliked?”
“Why the hate for Hillary?”
“Why do people hate Hillary Clinton so much?”
Is it because of partisanship?
Or a hard-fought primary?
Maybe, NBC once suggested, it’s because “she’s not a train wreck.”
Funny how the answers seem to be everything but the obvious.
We go on endlessly about how “untrustworthy” she is, while fact checkers rank her as the second-most honest prominent politician in the country. (And her opponent as by far the least.)

While he’s no fan of Donald Trump, liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore says the GOP presidential nominee won Monday’s debate against Hillary Clinton.
“It’s over,” the Oscar-winning director wrote in a tweet that is still causing a media ripple.
Moore used a football analogy to warn Clinton supporters against celebrating what many saw as a victory for their candidate.
Moore had already predicted that Trump would win the election in a blog for The Huffington Post. But his latest declaration that the real estate mogul had scored an important victory in the race for the presidency grabbed headlines left and right.

Donald Trump, within striking distance of the presidency, stepped on stage here Monday and did what Hillary Clinton hoped he would.
He behaved like Donald Trump
The Clinton campaign’s greatest fear throughout the general election has been that some other Trump would emerge ― a more measured, reasonable and mature man, one who might look like he was ready for the Oval Office. That man doesn’t exist, so he didn’t show up.
Trump came out with a clear game plan targeted at Ohio and Pennsylvania voters frustrated with the loss of manufacturing, hitting Clinton on trade over and over.
