The Oscars host used his gig to poke fun at Mahershala Ali’s name and the name of his newborn daughter, and lots of people are getting pretty fed up with the joke.

Jackie Evancho, the “America’s Got Talent” runner-up who sang the national anthem at President Donald Trump’s inauguration last month, is asking the commander-in-chief to meet with her again — and this time she wants to bring her older sister Juliet Evancho, who is transgender.
The 16-year-old singer sent out two tweets after the Trump administration formally rescinded an Obama administration directive on transgender bathroom protections in public schools Wednesday evening.
“I am obviously disappointed in the @POTUS decision to send the #transgender bathroom issue to the states to decide. #sisterlove,” Jackie Evancho wrote in her first tweet.

Td is pretty strange right now, and escaping from it, at least temporarily, is absolutely necessary. So why not pay a visit to an even stranger world with a good science fiction movie? Time travel, aliens, robots and more will take people away from politics, international relations and Russian intrigue — at least for a few hours

This movie never gets old, and no one is ever too old to watch it. Steven Spielberg’s film manages to be simultaneously heartwarming and just a little eerie as it tells the story of an alien who befriends a young boy.

For the last few months, Alec Baldwin has been putting in a ton of work as “Saturday Night Live’s” designated Donald Trump impersonator. In this digital short, though, Leslie Jones wonders if Baldwin can really stick around to caricature Trump for the next four years; he’s a busy guy after all. “SNL” has to have someone to play the president in their sketches, so if Baldwin isn’t available, Jones decides that she’s best suited to take up the mantle (and the hair).
Jones puts in the time to master her impression, and then the “SNL” makeup wizards go to work. Seeing Jones with Trump hair is a riot, though “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels is less than impressed. Jones also has to compete for the Trump spot with Vanessa Bayer; it seems that once Melissa McCarthy started crossdressing as Sean Spicer, other “SNL” players saw new opportunities on the horizon.

Jarreau died about 9 a.m. ET in Los Angeles surrounded by his wife, son and a few friends, according to posts on his Facebook page and Twitter account.
.
Nicknamed the “Acrobat of Scat” for his innovative vocal stylings, Jarreau was one of the few performers of his day who successfully bridged pop, jazz and R&B. He released more than 20 albums over his storied career, won seven Grammy Awards and remained a tireless performer right up until his death.
.
He had only retired from touring last week. A February 8 statement on Jarreau’s Twitter account announced his retirement from touring after being hospitalized in Los Angeles for exhaustion.

Although many commercials during Super Bowl LI had a political bent, only one featured a full-blown Donald Trump parody making Russia jokes.
“Washington is so cold, I thought Russia was cold,” are the first lines to come out of the Donald Trump impersonator’s pursed mouth in Cyprus Air’s commercial advertising gas fireplaces.
From there, the impersonator makes various jokes about the sale being “huuuge” and the customers being winners.
The commercial ran in the Washington D.C. market. President Trump was not in D.C. Sunday, instead opting for his Mar-a-Lago home.

When she was younger, Olympic gold-medal swimmer Simone Manuel found inspiration in Venus and Serena Williams. The beaded, braided tennis phenoms were Black and excellent, inspiring children the world over with their total domination of a sport usually seen as reserved for white people.
Fast forward to now. Kids the world over are still finding inspiration in the Williams sisters. And Manuel.
Said the Olympian: “I think it’s pretty cool that someone else can see me and realize, ‘hey, this is something I can try, this is something I can be good at,’ just to not set limitations on some of the goals they may have.”
At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Manuel made history as the first African-American woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in swimming. In a tie with Penny Oleksiak of Canada, Manuel won that gold and set an Olympic record in the 100-meter freestyle, and she imprinted upon pop culture an indelible image of shock and pure joy as she looked over at the scoreboard.
