An international team of scientists has generated the first laser-like beams of X-rays from a tabletop device.
Most of today’s X-ray lasers require so much power they rely on facilities the size of sports stadiums.
This has prompted efforts to build a cost-effective and reasonably sized X-ray laser.

The problem with invisibility cloaks is that up until now, they always reflect a little bit of light, so the object being hidden is partially visible. Researchers at Duke University tweaked their fabrication technique to make up for this flaw and created a device that doesn’t give off that reflected image.

It’s tricky being a parent these days, especially when technology is involved.
On one hand, you want to give your kids the independence to make decisions on their own, learn from those actions, and mature accordingly. On the other hand, they’re still your baby—no matter what the age— and you want to protect them as best you can.
