Ouray County, Colorado, U.S. Red Mountain is a set of three peaks in the San Juan Mountains of western Colorado in the United States, about 5 miles south of Ouray. The mountains get their name from the reddish iron ore rocks that cover the surface.
Ouray County is one of the 64 counties of the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,436. The county seat is Ouray. Because of its rugged mountain topography, Ouray County is also known as the Switzerland of America.

But as The Washington Post points out, there perhaps is another reason for Trump’s plan to address his remaining minions on Aug. 27, 2020, in Jacksonville, over the various other cities in contention.
That date is the 60th anniversary of one of the most notorious incidents of the civil rights era. On Aug. 27, 1960, in Jacksonville, a mob of white rioters organized by the Ku Klux Klan chased and attacked civil rights demonstrators with ax handles and baseball bats, an attack now known as Ax Handle Saturday. Coincidence? The Trump White House has long sailed past the boundaries of what could charitably be labeled coincidence.
Indeed, we’re getting a clear pattern from the openly white nationalist White House. Trump’s first large pandemic-era rally, Trump announced at the White House, would be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the site of the 1921 massacre of Black Americans and the burning of Black Wall Street, and would take place on Juneteeth, the date the last former slaves were told of their freedom after the Civil War.

A New Jersey corrections officer was suspended Tuesday after he and other white men were filmed mocking George Floyd’s death at a Black Lives Matter protest in South Jersey’s Franklin Township, The New York Times reported. A FedEx driver was fired.
As peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstrators passed, the white counterprotesters ― with the backdrop of an “All Lives Matter” sign and a Trump campaign banner ― reenacted Floyd’s killing by police, with one kneeling on the neck of another who lay face-down.
“This is what happens when you don’t comply with the cops,” yelled the man on top, who went on to blame Floyd for his own death, according to video.
At least two participants were later identified.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore hugs the south shore of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s known for the dramatic multicolored Pictured Rocks cliffs. Unusual sandstone formations like Miners Castle and Chapel Rock define the park’s headlands. Twelvemile Beach has a trail through a nearby white birch forest. Remnants of shipwrecks dot the shoreline around Au Sable Point’s 19th-century lighthouse.

This has been the year of murder hornets, massive locust invasions on two continents, and a sudden start to Atlantic hurricane season, among other oddities (not to mention the deadly pandemic). So perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising that Lake Superior is set to see its first post-tropical cyclone ever recorded, and yet here we are.
Tropical Depression Cristobal is currently churning over the Midwest after bringing torrential rain and storm surge to the Gulf Coast. It’s in the process of becoming subtropical but is expected to maintain its swirling characteristics and make landfall on Lake Superior (or is it lakefall?). While the lake is no stranger to massive storms and powerful gales, it’s never experienced one like Cristobal.
The National Hurricane Center stopped issuing forecasts for Cristobal early on Tuesday morning, and it issued its final forecast map on Monday. But that map showed the storm heading in a very weird direction.

On the CBS special, Justice for All hosted by Gayle King, George Floyd’s brother Philonise said he believes Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in Floyd’s death, knew exactly who Floyd was as he pressed his knee into his neck. Not only that, but Philonise also said he believed it was personal, and he’s not the only one who sees it that way.
Both Floyd and Chauvin used to work security at El Nuevo Rodeo, a nightclub in Minneapolis that was burned to the ground in recent riots. Floyd worked security inside, while Chauvin was paid to sit in his squad car outside the club when he was off-duty. Former co-worker David Pinney said that not only did Floyd and Chauvin know each other, but they had a contentious history.
“They bumped heads,” Pinney said, adding, “It has a lot to do with Derek being extremely aggressive within the club with some of the patrons, which was an issue.” “Is there any doubt in your mind that Derek Chauvin knew George Floyd?” CBS correspondent Jeff Pegues asked. “No, he knew him,” Pinney replied. “How well did he know him?” “I’d say pretty well.”
Chauvin had a history of complaints against him, and the former owner of the club, Maya Santamaria, was not surprised by what she saw in the video, except that it went as far as it did.
