A former basketball coach and gym teacher at a prestigious New York City high school faces statutory rape charges for her alleged sex abuse of a male student.

Megan Mahoney, 24, was arrested Monday for allegedly having regular sexual contact with the same 16-year-old student over a period of more than two months beginning in late October 2013, the Staten Island Advance reports.
She faces 30 counts of statutory rape in the case.

A sexual education and health teacher at a Massachusetts high school has been indicted on rape charges after prosecutors said she had a sexual relationship with a student.
Rachelle Gendron, 27, was fired from her job at North Central Charter Essential School in Fitchburg following an investigation in which police allegedly recovered “significant” evidence of inappropriate conduct, including text messages and photos of the teacher “in various states of undress with genitals and breasts exposed,” from the phone of a 14-year-old male student.
In court Friday, Gendron appeared crying and visibly shaken as she was arraigned on charges including five counts of rape aggravated by age difference.

Rachelle Gendron, a former sex education teacher, is charged with the rape of a minor student.

An English teacher at a Dallas high school is accused of inappropriate contact with a student after the boy’s mother reportedly caught her with her son in a swimming pool at the apartment complex where they live, according to CBS Dallas.
Lesley Ann Sharp faces charges of improper relationship between educator and student, possession or promotion of child pornography, tampering with physical evidence and perjury, according to the Dallas Morning News. The 24-year-old teacher is accused of accused of having sex with the 17-year-old more than 25 times, in locations such as her car, her apartment and even “in his apartment while the student’s parents were not home.”
The child pornography charges stem from explicit photos that Sharp allegedly exchanged with the boy via text message, according to police. Police allege that Sharp and the student, a freshman at Hillcrest High School, “exchanged 116 telephone calls, 173 multi-media messages and 15,371 text messages” between May and July of this year.
