After around 16 years of navigating through the muck of American politics, Jon Stewart finally wished “The Daily Show” #JonVoyage.
Aside from the episode being extra long–around 50 minutes–not a lot was known about Stewart’s final show heading into Thursday, but the surprises were all the Moments of Zen you’ll ever need.
The show started with out with an emotional reunion of “Daily Show” correspondents, including Samantha Bee, John Hodgman, Larry Wilmore, Lewis Black, Kristen Schaal, Jason Jones, Al Madrigal, Rob Riggle, John Oliver, Darth Vader (because why not) and even Steve Carell. Trevor Noah showed up to measure for his new desk, Craig Kilborn came to gloat that Stewart finally ran the show into the ground and Stephen Colbert brought Stewart to tears during an emotional goodbye, calling the TV host a “great artist and a good man.”

In December, Trevor Noah, a 31-year-old comedian, made his debut as an on-air contributor on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” offering his outsider’s perspective, as a biracial South African, on the United States.
“I never thought I’d be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa,” he said with a smile. “It kind of makes me a little nostalgic for the old days, back home.”
Now, after only three appearances on that Comedy Central show, Mr. Noah has gotten a huge and unexpected promotion. On Monday, Comedy Central announced that Mr. Noah would be the new host of “The Daily Show,” succeeding Mr. Stewart after he steps down later this year.

Jon Stewart will step down as host of “The Daily Show,” he announced during Tuesday night’s taping. Comedy Central confirmed the news in a tweet.
Stewart has been at the helm of the beloved satirical news program for over 15 years. He will continue hosting the show until later this year.
According to a tweet from CBS News, Stewart told fans he had felt “restless.”

Jon Stewart laid into the BBC on Wednesday night, quipping that the British broadcaster’s sex abuse crisis made News Corp.’s phone hacking scandal “look almost quaint.”
Last week, the director-general of the BBC George Entwistle stepped down after the program “Newsnight” wrongly accused a politician of sexual abuse. The erroneous report came soon after news broke that same program axed an investigative story outing famed British broadcaster and former BBC host Jimmy Savile as a serial child sex offender. The program aired Christmas tributes to the broadcaster instead.
