Businessweek continued its streak of attention-getting covers on Wednesday by portraying President Obama as a much older man for its next issue.
“The opposition remains considerable, and no matter how successful he is, the hardest job in the world will take its toll,” the editors wrote about the cover, which shows a wrinkled, white-haired Obama with the headline “The Next Four Years.”

Brown tree snakes in Guam have wildlife officials there seeing red. That’s why the officials are air-dropping poisoned mice as a lethal treat for the mildly venomous serpents, an invasive species that has devastated native animal populations on the Pacific island, the BBC reported.

Though we’re sure they have their reasons for existing, we consider moths to be the ‘black sheep’ cousin of butterflies. They have those dull wings, they eat our sweaters and they do things like lay eggs in carpets. (We’ll let that one sink in for a moment.) Moths also have a distinct way of startling you by flying spastically out of cupboards, closets and near light sources. No wonder we’ve seen an uptick of people asking for ways to get rid of moths.

The embryos are safe. So are the frozen eggs and sperm at the NYU Fertility Center. But saving them required dramatic effort on the part of hospital workers, as Hurricane Sandy took down power and the backup generator failed.
“There were heroes here,” Dr. Jamie Grifo, the fertility center’s program director said in an interview today, describing the scramble Monday night and Tuesday.

LAS VEGAS — Theresa Faiss’ marriage to former state Sen. Wilbur Faiss lasted more than some lifetimes, and earned congratulations from the president. Just months after being recognized as being the longest married couple in America, the matriarch of the Faiss family has died in Las Vegas at the age of 97.
The couple were honored in January by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter as being the longest-married couple for 2012. They were married for 79 years.

ATLANTA — The pharmacy that distributed a steroid linked to an outbreak of fungal meningitis has issued a voluntary recall of all of its products, calling the move a precautionary measure.
The New England Compounding Center announced the recall Saturday. The company said in a news release that the move was taken out of an abundance of caution because of the risk of contamination. It says there is no indication that any other products have been contaminated.
