A video released to NBC News shows the moment when police in Charlotte, North Carolina, shot Keith Scott.
In the video, which lasts two minutes and 12 seconds, Scott’s wife pleads with an officer not to fire his weapon. At the same time, the officer is pointing a gun in Scott’s direction, screaming at him to “drop the gun.”
“Don’t shoot him, he has no weapon,” Rakeyia Scott says several times. She tells the officers that her husband has a TBI, or a traumatic brain injury, and then assures them, “He’s not gonna do anything, he just took his medicine.”

A Paralympic hopeful plans for running in Brazil next year are back on track after fans on the Internet got together to replace stolen prosthetics.
“It’s really good to be back running on my new leg and I’m enjoying every bit of it,” said athlete Paul Peterson.
Peterson, 22, had his first chance Tuesday to try his new prosthetic running legs after thieves on June 3 broke into his Charlotte, North Carolina, apartment and stole almost everything, including his competition medals and three of his custom-fit running blades.

Authorities have recovered the body of Holly Fischer, a missing North Carolina woman whose car was found at the bottom on an 800-foot embankment Sunday night.
Investigators had been searching for Fischer since last week, when she left her parents’ home in Knox County, Tenn., presumably for her home in Charlotte, N.C.
“It is with unbearable sadness that we can confirm that she was not found alive. Our hearts are broken … We are all devastated to lose our beautiful daughter, sister and friend,” Fischer’s family said in a statement posted to a Facebook page created to share information on the case.
According to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, a family friend who was searching for Fischer contacted authorities Sunday night and told he spotted car tracks going off the road in an area off N.C. 16 in Millers Creek, N.C.
