A 2-year-old Michigan boy is struggling to survive after allegedly suffering a severe beating from his mother’s boyfriend.Damian Sutton is in critical condition at Children’s Hospital in Detroit in a medically-induced coma. He is suffering from swelling and bleeding in his brain, according to CBS Detroit.
The injuries reportedly happened while 26-year-old Ronald Dimambro, boyfriend to Damian’s mother Nicole Sutton, was babysitting the child Wednesday. The Washington Township man was arraigned and charged with first-degree felony child abuse, according to the Detroit News. He is being held on bail set at $500,000. Local ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV reports his lawyer entered a not guilty plea in court.
Damian’s mother told the news station that she trusted Dimambro and had no idea something like this could happen.
