An intense look at what can happen when meddlesome humans explore other worlds when their own world is far from perfected. A  six-member crew returning from Mars with a soil sample is tasked with studying the sample, which could prove to be the first evidence of extraterrestrial life. After extracting a single cell from the sample, British biologist Hugh Derry, an expert in exobiology is able to revive the dormant organism with atmospheric adjustments and glucose. I haven’t seen many movies about Jesus as a child nor is their much scripture found on the early years of Christ.  I was curious to see if this film supported what little I did hear about the life of Christ as a boy.  I recognized a couple of incidents as being similar to stories I’d heard before but most were new.  I found it strange that bullying exited among the children as strongly as was depicted in The Young Messiah.  I always thought the children were more disciplined in that era and environment.  I was surprised that Jesus (Adam Greaves-Neal)  was picked on and frequently beaten up.  My understanding of Jesus as a small boy raising another boy from the dead was when he caused the boys death but in this adaptation,  Jesus had nothing to do with the boys death even though he was accused of…

Kong: Skull Island trailers didn’t do the film justice. I actually wasn’t that motivated about seeing the movie. I couldn’t imagine the what they could possibly throw together to make another Kong movie worth making or paying good money to see. I was surprised by the plot and the relevancy of Kong, not to mention the passion I felt. I dare say, there are some brilliant writers around who really know how to tug at ones heart, get a message to the audience all while entertaining the scrap out of you.

Skull Island takes place in 1944 with two WWII fighter pilots engaged in serious combat (one American and one Japanese).  The fight was really intense and just when one of the pilots seemed like he was about to win the fight, an enormous hand raises up out of the earth, causing both soldiers to pause in shock.  Fast forward…

Logan turns out to be a fantastic farewell to this third and final film solely focusing on Wolverine while opening up a host of possibilities as it says hello to a new chapter of young mutants. While I’m sad to see X-Men, as I knew it, fade into the sunset, I realize, we all get old. Today’s action films are so physical, it’s a wonder super heroes like Tony Stark last as long as they have. As you can see, the likes of Spiderman, Superman, Batman and Catwoman have all changed actors with many more to come. Logan (Hugh Jackman) happens to be a picture of beauty as far as the body goes however, we can’t account for what’s inside. While still looking good, he is now out of the action hero game, probably taking on roles more suited to his age. I must say, he did a fantastic job…
