The grey-headed flying fox is a megabat native to Australia. The species shares mainland Australia with three other members of the genus Pteropus: the little red P. scapulatus, spectacled P. conspicillatus, and the black P. alecto.

Isabela Island, Ecuador

Isabela Island is the largest island of the Galápagos with an area of 4,640 square kilometres and length of 100 kilometres, almost four times larger than Santa Cruz, the second largest of the archipelago. It was named after Queen Isabella of Spain. It was originally named Albemarle after the Duke of Albemarle.

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.

Stuttgart, the capital, is home to Wilhelma, a royal estate turned zoo and gardens. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz have headquarters and museums there. The 19th-century Hohenzollern Castle sits in the Swabian Alps to the south.

Palawan is one of the most popular destinations in the Philippines, but above this is the archipelago of Bacuit, considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Dozens of islands and islets, lagoons with turquoise waters, all surrounded by huge karst peaks… That is the picture perfect scenery you will discover during a boat trip to the famous Bacuit Bay.

THE RESULT OF A HAPPY DISCOVERY

The story goes that in 1979, a team of divers were forced to anchor their boat in the middle of the night. Apparently, a line used by tuna fishermen had blocked the propeller from their boat. Without even knowing where they were, they woke up the next morning surrounded by high limestone cliffs. The scenery was absolutely fabulous: lush forests, white sand beaches, turquoise water, and deserted islands. Four years later, the first dive station was established on the beautiful island of Miniloc, setting a path for tourism in El Nido, the closest inland town to the archipelago of Bacuit.

Broch of Mousa

Broch of Mousa is a preserved Iron Age broch or round tower. It is on the island of Mousa in Shetland, Scotland. It is the tallest broch still standing and amongst the best-preserved prehistoric buildings in Europe. It is thought to have been constructed c. 100 BC, one of more than 500 brochs built in Scotland.

Erawan National Park

Erawan National Park is in Thailand, northwest of Bangkok, near the Myanmar (Burma) border. It’s known for Erawan Falls, which cascades down 7 tiers. The park’s many caves include Phartat Cave, which has stalactites and stalagmites, and Ta Duang Cave, featuring rock paintings. Limestone Wang Bah Dan Cave has 2 levels, with a stream in its lower chamber. The park is crossed by trails, and home to elephants and deer.
