The evidence is still coming in, but polls so far suggest that the tape of Donald Trump discussing sexual assault and the ensuing accusations didn’t cause support for the GOP presidential nominee to collapse.
Instead, the week’s events seem to have reinforced a downward trend that started at the beginning of the month. He’s unlikely to recover, and Trump’s odds of winning on Nov. 8 are less than 1 in 10, according to HuffPost’s projections.
According to HuffPost Pollster’s trend for the two-way Hillary Clinton vs. Trump race, Trump’s numbers began dropping at the end of September after briefly rising as high as 43 percent. He’s at just under 41 percent now ― a small but significant decline. In polls including third-party candidates, there’s been essentially no movement: Trump is stuck between 38 and 39 percent.

Elizabeth Warren is not done with Wells Fargo or its now-former chief executive John Stumpf.
Facing a public outcry over widespread fraud allegations, the bank announced on Wednesday that the 63-year-old Stumpf was retiring. But that’s just the first step, according to the Democratic Massachusetts senator, who ripped Stumpf apart at a Senate hearing in September for his role in the scam.
At the time, Warren called for three things: Stumpf’s ouster; an investigation of the bank by the Justice Department and SEC; and for Stumpf to be forced to give back all the money he made while the scam was ongoing. (While the bank was fined $185 million by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for five years of misbehavior, it’s still unclear how long the shady practice was going on.)

Dead and dying are two very different things.
If a person is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, their loved ones don’t rush to write an obituary and plan a funeral. Likewise, species aren’t declared extinct until they actually are.
In a viral article entitled “Obituary: Great Barrier Reef (25 Million BC-2016),” however, writer Rowan Jacobsen proclaimed ― inaccurately and, we can only hope, hyperbolically ― that Earth’s largest living structure is dead and gone.

The rats are quickly jumping from the sinking ship of Trump. But not so fast, dear Republican senators and congressmen. Trump may have verbalized his misogyny, sexism and abuse of women into an open microphone, but over the past decades you ― YOU ― have LEGALIZED it. He may talk of “grabbing” sexual organs, but YOU have created laws that legally grab control over women’s bodies. Trump may brag about his power over women; YOU, the Republican legislators (and your backers, the Christian Right and rich businessmen), have made sure women aren’t paid the same as men, don’t have paid maternity leave, or can’t get easy access to birth control.
Trump has been called “disgusting” for his remarks. But you, by actually blocking women’s equal rights, you’ve been rewarded for your misogyny with re-election, campaign cash and future lobbying jobs. You think by disowning Trump now that we, the people, are going be grateful to you. But we know that Trump is only the natural result of a Republican culture that has viciously fought the women’s agenda for years. Trump hasn’t destroyed your party; he’s your end game, the grim reaper from the seeds you have sown, showing up now to preside over your demise. Defeating Trump, or pushing him to drop out, is NOT what will make this right for the majority of us Americans. Like any good doctor, we need to remove the cancer from its source, and that source is you.

Covering Donald Trump rallies has never been easy for journalists. Members of the press are often the target of jeering by unruly crowds that are egged on by the candidate himself.
But as the campaign falters and Trump spins tales of a media conspiracy, the scene appears to be getting even uglier.
In Ohio on Thursday, Trump claimed that allegations he groped several women were “lies, corruption and false accusations of the crooked Hillary campaign and the mainstream media,” according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Earlier in the day in Florida, he said the media was at “war,” with an agenda to elect Clinton “at any cost, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy.”

Four women came forward Wednesday night with allegations of Donald Trump sexually assaulting them.
The New York Times began the wave of accounts with a bombshell report on two women, Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks, who say Trump groped them. Both had told close friends of being assaulted by Trump, but neither had gone public with their story until Wednesday. A third woman, Mindy McGillivray, also accused Trump of groping her in a story published by the The Palm Beach Post shortly after the Times article appeared. And later Wednesday, People writer Natasha Stoynoff said Trump had attempted to force himself on her while she was interviewing him.
Three of the alleged incidents happened in the early to mid-2000s, while one was 30 years ago. Two occurred at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s estate in South Florida. All four paint a disturbing picture of a man who 11 years ago was recorded boasting he can sexually assault women at will because of his fame.

While running the Miss Teen USA beauty pageant, Donald Trump reportedly walked in on contestants as they changed in their dressing room, multiple contestants told BuzzFeed on Wednesday.
The site quoted Mariah Billado, a 1997 contestant from Vermont, who recalled having to get dressed “really quickly” because Trump had entered the room. Girls were “just scrambling to grab stuff,” she added.
Billado paraphrased the GOP presidential nominee as saying: “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.” When she first learned that Trump was running for president she thought, “Oh, gross, this guy walked in on us in the pageant.”

At a rally in Iowa on Tuesday, a Donald Trump supporter said she’s “ready for a revolution” if Hillary Clinton wins the election.
Speaking to Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, the unnamed supporter said she was “scared” of voter fraud, which has become one of Trump’s talking points as his poll numbers have plunged. When the woman mentioned voter fraud, the audience cheered and clapped.
“There’s a lot of us that are out here saying that we go to vote, we’re gonna wear red,” she said, adding:
“Our lives depend on this election. Our kids’ futures depends on this election. I will tell you, just for me ― and I don’t want this to happen ― but I will tell you for me personally, if Hillary Clinton gets in, I myself, I’m ready for a revolution, because we can’t have her in.”

Anyone waiting to hear contrition from Donald Trump about recently leaked audio of him bragging that his celebrity allowed him to grab women by their genitals will just have to keep waiting.
When the question inevitably came up at the second presidential debate Sunday night, Trump tried to minimize its significance, repeating the phrase that he put out shortly after the audio was released on Friday ― “locker room talk” – while appearing to dispute that those actions constitute sexual assault.
“No, I didn’t say that at all,” Trump said about the sexual assault description by moderator Anderson Cooper. “I don’t think you understand what was said.”

Thanks to fairy tales and legends of the Blair Witch variety, a dense, dark forest can elicit feelings of dread. And while most spooky moments can be chalked up to our campfire imaginations running wild, some places around the world carry legitimately terrifying histories that are much harder to brush off with a nervous laugh. From woods with high-pitched screams echoing through the trees to the tragic site of hundreds of deaths, these seven forests are certainly not for the faint of heart.
