Republican front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday floated the idea of paying the legal fees of a white supporter who sucker-punched a black man leaving a rally. Later that day, he claimed “no responsibility” for political violence, suggesting instead that protesters are dangerous and that his supporters are right to “hit back.” He even blamed Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for sending protesters to disrupt his rallies, and threatened to sic his supporters on Sanders in retaliation.
Extreme political movements like Trump’s often go hand-in-hand with street violence. But organized militias like Adolf Hitler’s brown shirts and Benito Mussolini’s black shirts don’t spring up overnight. They evolve.

It’s no secret that the Earth is in dire straits. Photos of the waterways in Rio de Janeiro, still reeking of sewage despite a years-long cleanup plan ahead of this summer’s Olympics, prove just how difficult it can be to fix what humanity has fouled.
The human toll of all this pollution and destruction is vast. A report released Tuesday by the World Health Organization links nearly 13 million deaths worldwide to preventable environmental factors. The study found that nearly 1 in 4 deaths in 2012, the most recent year cited in the report, had to do with surroundings made unhealthy by air pollution, poor water quality and other environmental factors. More than 1 in 4 deaths of children under the age of 5 were linked to the same sources.
“A healthy environment underpins a healthy population,” Margaret Chan, director-general of WHO, said in a statement. “If countries do not take actions to make environments where people live and work healthy, millions will continue to become ill and die too young.”

A new study has linked unhealthy environments, like those caused by dirty cookstoves, to millions of preventable deaths worldwide.
Five sheriff’s deputies in North Carolina have been disciplined for failure to act after a black protester was punched by a white supporter of Donald J. Trump at a campaign rally, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
Three of the deputies have been demoted and will be suspended without pay for five days for “unsatisfactory performance and failing to discharge the duties and policies of the office of sheriff,” according to a statement released by Sheriff Earl Butler of Cumberland County on his Facebook page. The other two deputies were suspended for three days without pay.
All five were to be placed on probation for the next year, Sheriff Butler said. The names of the deputies were not released.

The fact that Taylor Swift’s romantic dramedy of a song, “Wildest Dreams,” has been stuck in your head for damn days has nothing to do with whether or not it’s good. According to science, the reason why music gets stuck in our heads may have more to do with us — our brains, our personalities and the things we loathe — than it does with the imposing songs themselves.
A 2015 study found that earworms — scientifically speaking, involuntary musical imagery (INMI) — occur more frequently in people with tissue highly concentrated in the parts of the brain that are linked to memory and sound perception, as one would maybe guess if one were able to put the internal music on pause and really focus on the root of the problem.
“We did find a link between certain brain areas involved in music perception and music-evoked emotions and actually, emotions in general,” lead author of the study, Nicolas Farrugia, told CBS.

For what’s believed to be the first time ever, a senior NFL official acknowledged Monday that there’s a direct link between playing football and developing degenerative brain disease — a significant shift in the discussion over head trauma caused by America’s most popular sport.
Jeff Miller, the NFL’s executive vice president for health and safety policy, acknowledged the connection during a roundtable discussion convened by the House Government and Commerce Committee, which is investigating concussions in the military, sports and other dangerous pursuits.
Asked by Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois, whether he believed “there is a link between football and degenerative brain disorders” like chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, Miller noted research by Dr. Ann McKee of Boston University and said: “Certainly, Dr. McKee’s research shows that a number of retired NFL players were diagnosed with CTE, so the answer to that question is certainly yes.”

A customer at a Washington state 7-Eleven shot and killed a masked man who charged into the convenience store swinging a hatchet on Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The 60-year-old customer was drinking a coffee around 5:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. ET) when the hatchet-wielding man came into the store in Burien, about 10 miles south of Seattle, according to the King County Sheriff’s office.
The suspect first tried to attack the customer and then went after a clerk behind the counter, wounding him in the stomach, the sheriff’s office said.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned doctors Tuesday to use caution when prescribing drugs for chronic pain and to carefully monitor patients using the medications, as part of an effort to reduce addiction and overdoses.
The USA is in the grips of an epidemic of prescription painkiller abuse, with 40 Americans a day dying from overdoses, according to the CDC. In 2013, an estimated 1.9 million people abused or were dependent on prescription opiates, drugs in the same class as morphine.
Nearly all of the prescription opiates on the market are as powerful as heroin, said CDC director Thomas Frieden. Yet prescription opiates often do a very poor job in controlling chronic pain. Some patients who are prescribed opiates actually experience more pain than others, Frieden said. For the vast majority of patients with chronic pain, the risks aren’t worth the benefits, he said.
This 100 Drone Synchronized Airshow is the World’s Largest and Most Impressive – 2 Min, 25 Sec
Drones have a lot of people worried about privacy, but they can be used for good as well as nefarious purposes. Take, for instance, a spectacular display of drone technology by Intel Corporation (USA) involving 100 small aircraft being launched skywards in formation has earned a new Guinness World Record for the Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) airborne simultaneously.
Controlled on the ground by a crew using PCs with Intel software, the mass of drones lit up the night sky in sync to a live performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and executed a stunning light show resembling a fireworks display. “Drone 100” took place at FlugplatzAhrenlohe, Tornesch, Germany, in November 2015.
The record was set in collaboration with Ars Electronica Futurelab to push the limits of the UAV industry and to show what UAVs can be used for.

Russian strongman Vladimir Putin declared mission accomplished Monday and said he is withdrawing his troops from war-torn Syria now that peace talks are underway.
“I believe that the goal set out to the ministry of defense and the armed forces has, in large part, been fulfilled and that’s why I order the minister of defense as of tomorrow to start the pullout of the main part of our military grouping from the Syrian Arab Republic,” Putin said.
Putin’s declaration came as United Nations-led negotiations got underway in Geneva, Switzerland to end the brutal and bloody civil war that has left thousands dead and sent millions more into exile.

In the world, human beings are facing various problems. People who are full of greed, anger, and ignorance are seen to be fighting with each other in words and deeds. As the fighting continues, various problems such as civil wars, wars of aggression, and wars of aggression are occurring. As world peace is being destroyed, humans are facing unbearable problems. Innocent children and women are not getting the rights they deserve and deserve. I can't think of one thing every time. What is it? The United Nations. If we look at the responsibilities and duties of the United Nations, I think it is not suitable for solving the problems that are happening in the world today. In fact, the United Nations and the World Security Council, such an organization must rule the world, must be able to give orders, and must have various ways to obey orders. There must be no organization that can influence more than that organization. There should be experts from each country. They can even dominate the superpowers like the US, China, and Britain. Only then will global peace be achieved quickly. Now, if a country with power develops more militarily, economically, or socially than its own country, then powerful countries will jealously seek out enemies and wage war. Or they will attack with fighter jets. In this, innocent people are losing their lives. No one understands the value of a life. You should think about how to achieve global peace by controlling these. If the US continues to be the permanent president of the UN, world peace will never be achieved. If you think carefully, no one sees that they are working for the common good, but for their own benefit, for the benefit of their own country. The permanent president of the UN and the Security Council has rejected this, As a young Rohingya, I have come to realize that only by electing the president and secretary from among the countries in the world through a secret ballot system and governing the world fairly can we achieve global peace. The United Nations and the Security Council are organizations in which any country must govern, give orders, and make them obey their orders. For example, only when a defendant is tried in court can we hold the leaders of the countries in check and control them, can we achieve global peace smoothly. Otherwise, it will not be easy for powerful countries to use various excuses to end this war every year, every year, for the benefit of themselves and their countries. No country's leaders pay any attention to the words of the United Nations and the Security Council. If we look at it in practice, look at the Rohingya issue. Myanmar is a small country. Even that country has been under siege for 8 years. What action can be taken? Why is the UN and the Security Council Powerless? Without such Power, how can the organization bring about global peace? Everyone should think about it. Whether there is a veto or a strong one, all countries in the world can only achieve global peace if they are subject to the UN and the Security Council. Seek peace in the quiet embrace of nature. Peace is an indispensable need of the human race. It is not as if one person can kill another person, and it is as if one country can attack another country, but instead of trying to build peace, we must try to destroy the peace now, and the world is getting hotter and is on the verge of collapse. I especially appeal to all the world experts to urgently try to bring about peace in all parts of the world. Mr, Noor Muhamed Arkhan Rohingya Youth Myanmar
