Police say 18-month-old twin boys drowned in a southwestern Arizona canal after their stroller rolled into the flowing water when their mother stopped to bat away a bee.
Yuma police said 26-year-old Alexis Keslar jumped into the steep-sloped canal Friday but couldn’t rescue the boys because the deep water was moving too fast.
Police on Tuesday issued a statement detailing how the twins ended up in the canal and said the Yuma County medical examiner determined that the deaths were accidental drownings.
A man stabbed his wife to death after he slapped one of their seven children for playing videogames and she confronted him about it, police said Friday.
Goodyear police said the children witnessed at least part of the Thursday night attack, and a 14-year-old daughter called 911 to frantically plead for help.
The husband also called 911 after the attack, reportedly crying “hysterically,” apologizing and saying he’d lost his mind and stabbed his wife, police said in a court document.

Ten years removed from his last Super Bowl win, Tom Brady wasn’t letting this one slip away.
Sure, the brilliant Brady needed a huge play by an undrafted rookie to preserve New England’s 28-24 Super Bowl victory over Seattle on Sunday night. But Brady’s imprint was all over the Patriots’ sensational fourth-quarter rally for their fourth NFL championship of the Brady-Bill Belichick era.
“You know, whatever it takes,” the record-setting Brady said after throwing for four touchdowns, including a 3-yarder to Julian Edelman with 2:02 remaining as New England rallied from a 10-point deficit. “Every team has a journey and a lot of people lost faith in us … but we held strong, we held together, and it’s a great feeling.”
A 3-year-old Payson boy shot and killed his 1½ -year-old brother after the boys found a handgun in a neighbor’s apartment and took it to another room, the eastern Arizona town’s police chief said Wednesday.
Police Chief Don Engler said his department’s investigation of the Tuesday shooting will take about a week. Results will be forwarded to the Gila County Attorney’s Office for a decision on whether to prosecute anybody, he said.
“What we’re taking a look at is the circumstances regarding the securing of the weapon” and how the boys were able to get ahold of it, Engler told The Associated Press. “We are continuing our investigation, and we haven’t ruled out criminal charges at this point.”
