Kathy took most of these pictures driving through Logan’s Pass. Glacier National Park is appropriately named. Most of the white spots in the pictures are glaciers or snow pack. There are about 37 glaciers left in the park and most of them are receding or shrinking in size.

We came through the park a later in the summer, but there we saw some of the wildflowers in bloom on the way up Looking Glass Hill overlooking Two Medicine Lake. The mountains and lake serve as a spectacular backdrop. We walked around the lake later.

This is looking downstream from Running Eagle Falls or Trick Falls. The glacier on the mountain would likely be considered one of the 25 active glaciers in the park. An active glacier is one that is 25 acres or more. Over 90% of the park is wilderness.

This is Jackson Glacier. Although it…

Bill Clinton knows how to win friends and influence people. The former president is a master of reinvention — does anyone even remember that mini-scandal back in the mid-’90s? — and the same talents that guided him into office have propelled him, more recently, into the stratosphere of Internet stardom. He’s celebrated for his humanitarian work . He selflessly shares vegan health tips. And he effortlessly doles out the kind of sage advice you might find stitched onto a pillow in a country cottage (“You don’t have to give anybody your tomorrows”).

So how did he get here, and what’s his secret to success? It’s simple: Clinton gives everyone he meets his full, undivided attention.

Paying attention may sound easy enough, but few of us apply our full focus when interacting with others. In our culture of distraction and multi-tasking — where digital devices…

Mock condolences arriving by text message in Iran announce the political “death” of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Memorial services, the joke continues, are planned at the United Nations in tribute to his swaggering style each year in New York.

The satire may bring smirks from the many foes Ahmadinejad has racked up over eight years in office, stemming from several high-profile feuds with the ruling clerics and one disputed re-election. But no one is truly counting Ahmadinejad out of Iran’s political future, which could face some bumpy times as he decides his next moves and his opponents plot possible payback.

One way or another, the combative and polarizing aura of the soon-to-be former president is not going to dissipate once his centrist successor, Hasan Rouhani, is sworn in Aug. 4.

Recording an appearance on The  Jay Leno Show — President Barack Obama reassured Leno and Americans watching that there is no ‘fear in the Yemen threat’ and that Americans have ‘no need to panic’.  The president also discussed his expected g20 meeting with Russian president Vladamir Putin next month, and why he decided to cancel it.

“If people are paying attention, checking with the State Department or embassy, going on the website before you travel, find out what kind of precautions you should be taking, then I think it still makes sense for people to take vacations,” he said.

“They just have to make sure that they’re doing so in a prudent way.”

There is something that I have learned going though life, and I am sure we all know about it. One could almost say, its common sense. But its something that it seems, the vast majority of people either subconsciously or willfully, ignore. What I am speaking of, is the risks (sometimes even dangers) of procrastination.

For each of us, the word means different things, depending on your life situation. If your in school, it could mean putting off cleaning your room or working on that big assignment (I was bad for that lol). In any situation, its normally a task that one must do, but does not at all feel inclined to do, and thus, it gets pushed aside, with a mental note to do it later. There is nothing wrong with this really, assuming you can actually get the task done in a timely fashion (meet a deadline).

But…

Three people are dead and at least six more injured in Ross Township, Penn., after a gunman opened fire during a board supervisors’ meeting, authorities told the Pocono Record.

The shooting took place around 7:20 p.m. on Monday night. According to Pocono Record reporter Chris Reber, who was on the scene to cover his first Ross Township board meeting, the alleged gunman used a pistol with a scope and shot through a wall. The gunman then barged into the meeting room and continued firing.

At least two of the victims were shot in the stomach, one was shot in the head, and another was shot in the leg, the Epoch Times reported.

“There were real heroes here,” Reber wrote. “People who did not consider their own lives in protecting others.”

There is not one heart upon this earth that hasn’t encountered some form of difficulties, whether it is illness, loss of a loved one, injustice or emotional, mental and physical pain. Unfortunately these are the dark shadows that fall upon every life. They are a natural progression in the cycle of our lives causing us to mature into wiser, compassionate men and women of God. They leave us wanting resolution for the greater good of humanity and God’s Divine order.

In this world of perplexities there are many spirits that influence the natural world…we give access to them by our response to the situations or conditions in our lives…. There is none more tragic then the condition of poverty.  Poverty is a Spirit that robs you of your health, your finances, your possessions, your friends, your confidence and your value in the natural world, as well as in the…

The world’s first lab-grown burger has been cooked and eaten at a news conference in London.

Scientists took cells from a cow and, at an institute in the Netherlands, turned them into strips of muscle that they combined to make a patty.

One food expert said it was “close to meat, but not that juicy” and another said it tasted like a real burger.

Researchers say the technology could be a sustainable way of meeting what they say is a growing demand for meat.

The burger was cooked by chef Richard McGeown, from Cornwall, and tasted by food critics Hanni Ruetzler and Josh Schonwald.

Upon tasting the burger, Austrian food researcher Ms Ruetzler said: “I was expecting the texture to be more soft… there is quite some intense taste; it’s close to meat, but it’s not that juicy. The consistency is perfect, but I miss…
