Can someone tell me why Alexander Emmanuel “Alex” Rodriguez, nicknamed “A-Rod”, is so important?  All I’ve heard in the last few weeks are stories about his alleged involvement again with an agency that provided some sort of banned drugs.  Mr. Rodriguez was suspended through the 2014 season on Monday when the league penalized 13 players following an investigation into Biogenesis of America, a shuttered Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs.  Mr. Rodriguez’s union formally filed an appeal of his doping suspension today, August 8, 2013.

His case will now be reviewed by an independent arbitrator.  The players’ association had no further comment.  Thank God there will be no further comment until the arbitrator rules in favor of MLB’s ban of Alex Rodriguez from a GAME even little kids play.

Rodriguez is the majors’ active leader with 648 career homers. One of his accomplishments in New York was to…

.. it is said that a person who represents himself in court has a terrorist killer for a client, or something like that :

The military judge presiding over the court-martial of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan ruled that he can continue to represent himself, denying a bid from his legal advisors to take over his defense amid concerns the former Army psychologist is trying to sink his own case to get the death penalty.

The lawyers assisting Hasan, called “standby attorneys,” claim he is trying to get the death penalty and have said it would be “morally repugnant” to help him achieve such a sentence. Hasan admitted in his opening statement that he was the shooter, appearing to be trying to get himself convicted.

..  If Hasan really wants the death penalty, he ought to be able to simply cop a plea . Unfortunately or not , it is a…

Not sure Stein wrote this but whoever did is right on target. Well worth reading!

Benjamin Jeremy “Ben” Stein is an American actor, writer, lawyer, and commentator on political and economic issues. He attained early success as a speechwriter for American presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Our only hope is if we find GOD again before it is too late ! !

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the…

After 47 years of in the field research, I can honestly say that I have the smallest adult penis I have ever seen.

I will not bore you with the thousands of hours scanning locker rooms, gauging public showers, and peaking over urinal partitions. Two examples should suffice.

On 12th August 2013, Google celebrates the 126th Birthday of the austrian scientist Erwin Schrödinger with a Doodle.

Who is Erwin Schrödinger ? Schrodinger’s biography shows that even with severe illness and family financial disaster, great accomplishment is possible. Born in 1887, in Austria, to a comfortable and educated Protestant family with some previous scientific connections, he was a gifted student in the local Gymnasium. His strengths and interests lay not only in the physics and math courses that he mastered with effortless enjoyment, but in languages, both ancient and modern, as well as poetry. In 1914, at the age of 27, he achieved the highest possible academic degree, representing independent scholarship. This degree is called Habilitation. Almost immediately, WW I interrupted his studies and ruined his family financially. He taught at a variety of German institutions, but continued his work. 1933, Schrödinger with Dirac, the Nobel Prize for “the…

The work we do at Picture That, LLC is, at times, quite rewarding.

It is one thing to outfit a space with beautiful artwork that enhances the room immediately.  Yet, it is quite another to use art to design a room in a hospital where patients come daily for treatment.

The knowledge that people who aren’t well might be cheered up because some color and ambiance have been added to their daily routines, makes us feel that our work is essential.

Some organizations we’ve worked with didn’t know where to start.  But this is what we do all day, create atmosphere and energy thereby bringing a space to life.

When the Huffington Post interviewed the executive director of The Color Association of the United States, they discovered that color can change a person’s mood.

“We react on multiple levels of association with colors — there are social or culture…

Grand Genève. The Capital of World Peace.  “The most boring city in all of Europe.” … and illicit hub for the Habanos cigar trade?

The 1962 U.S. embargo on Cuban goods may have seen reinforcement in the 1996 Helms – Burton Act, but in many cases there’s no touching the Swiss and their sneaky ways. Apparently banking isn’t their only attraction under the radar.

Perfectly aware of the increasing business from these transactions, several websites have risen in Switzerland with the sole intent of getting Americans’ money with the supposed ability to somehow bypass the embargo.

Sites such as Swiss Cigar Bank, Swiss Cuban Cigars (since reported for allegedly selling fakes!), Top Cuban cigars, Cigar One, Cigars of Cuba, Cigar Terminal, Don Ciggaro, and many more (Ridiculous I know – it is a small country!) have instigated the trend:

1. (Legally) Import cigars from Cuba to a physical shipping center in…
