Probably not the safest attempt for a shot.
These wicked looking little buzzers were nesting right outside, behind one of the motion sensing outdoor lights of my back yard. Still using only my stock 20-50mm lens for my camera, I got up to about 3 inches away from these sinister looking wasps faces for this photo and they did not look happy at all. Looks like I’ll be taking out the power hose tomorrow for a little bit of pest control!

Is money more important than happiness?
August 17, 2013
After having read the basics about money in my last post Money is a good servant, but a bad master, I would like you to take a moment and think about todays situation. Why is that we feel that money is very important. Even when we are growing up, money seems to be very important in life so we always have the desire to have money and to save it if possible for the times when we can spend it for our various needs. But what do we do at times, we become so obsessed with money that we start loving it and try to save even a single penny and avoid spending on ourselves. So either we are on the other side – extravagant or we are too cautious to spend it at all. If any of us have seen financial crisis while growing up or have gone through such times…

Out of darkness: Solar power sheds a little light on powerless communities
August 16, 2013

On the Navajo nation, where 18,000 people live without electricity, low-cost solar power is replacing kerosene and gasoline generators. Eagle Energy, the non-profit bringing solar power to the reservation, is working to build a market for the green technology.
Anna Begay lives on a remote plot of land in the Navajo reservation. To reach her home, you drive through twisting, unmarked trails of dust and mud along the edge of Coalmine Canyon, in northwest Arizona.
A grandmother in her late 80s, Begay lives alone in a traditional, eight-sided house called a hogan. She raises sheep with the help of a nephew and a couple of fast sheepdogs. When the dogs bark, it’s the only sound you will hear for miles.
This far out, it’s too expensive to connect her home to the electric grid. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have electricity.

YWCA Shooting: 2 Dead After Shots Fired In New Hampshire Office
August 15, 2013
The head of a New Hampshire YWCA where a father killed himself and his 9-year-old son during a supervised visit defended the center’s security measures Monday and said the man’s threats that preceded the shootings are all too common in the population it serves.“In domestic violence, that’s standard operating procedure: He says, `I’m going to kill you and the kids,'” YWCA president Monica Zulauf said at a news conference. “That is the victim we work with all the time here.”
Muni Savyon, 54, shot to death his son, Joshua, and then himself Sunday while the YWCA was open for supervised visits and custody exchanges, authorities said. According to court documents, Savyon had been upset over custody arrangements with the boy’s mother and had told her he would kill either her or himself and their son if he didn’t get what he wanted.

Să ştii să-ţi ceri iertare…
August 15, 2013
Să ştii să-ţi ceri iertare…
Ţi-am legănat cuvintele
Atunci când au sosit.
Puternic inima-mi bătea,
Dar, iar m-ai părăsit.
Mi-am deschis sufletul,
Şi nu credeam,
Că o să poţi să mă-nţelegi,
Mi-ai picurat dorinţe, vise
Şi-ai început s-alergi.
Şi strada ce ducea la tine,
N-avea trotuar, era-nvechită
Simţeam atunci când tu plecai,
Din casa părăsită.
De câte ori nu te-am ascuns,
Că pe o floare fără mamă?
Şi n-aşteptăm să mă iubeşti,
Îţi alungam din teamă…
Mâinile noastre se-ntâlneau
Când soarta paşnic, ne lovea
În braţe te strângeam puternic,
Şi-ţi îndulceam privirea…
De apărea pe ceru-albastru
Că nu ne vom vorbi,
Îi aduceam doar nori în cale,
Aproape tu, să-mi fii..
Mă întristează adevărul,
Dar şi minciunile-au distrus,
Întreg castelul de-amintiri,
Şi tot ce ne-am propus.
Greşeala noastră, depărtarea
Ne-a făcut rău, ne-a despărţit
Nu ne puteam vedea prea des,
Şi-am plâns, am suferit.
Orgoliul nu se lasă-nvins
A strâns regretele din urmă,
Tăcerea parcă e de fier,
Şi sufletul mi-l curmă.
Puterea vorbelor e sfântă,
O căutăm cu disperare,
M-aş linişti dac-ai putea,
Să ştii să-ţi ceri iertare…
Cu aşteptarea, mă-mpac bine
Din câte cred, am învăţat,
S-aştept, să sper, să lupt, să caut
Şi să primesc un gând curat.
Pentru că Dumnezeu ştia,
Că oamenii sunt trişti,
Le-a oferit lacrimi amare,
Când suferi, să rezişti!
Aşa voi face eu acum,
Înnod cu fundă, un nou vis…
Şi ţi-l trimit, că drept cadou,
Poate n-o fi respins!
