A new year and a new you: but are you really thinking about this objectively in the way that you see success in your life and your business?
So here we are at the first post in 2015.
Most bloggers and marketers would have (or will) post about your usual “10 ways to make 2015 a better year…” or “the key things you need to be doing in 2015.” I’m sure you know the posts I’m talking about.
And although these posts are sometimes useful and quite good to align your objectives and goals against your workload and core focus, they are usually the same old repeated ideas that we’ve seen year on year.
But it’s always good to do this kind exercise at the start of each working year. Therefore, I want to post a piece about success.
That word “success” is something that…

If it had not been for all the hoopla surrounding The Interview, Sony wouldn’t have enjoyed the revenue this film raked in over the holidays. The Interview is entertaining and somewhat funny but it’s certainly doesn’t score as a block buster movie. A popular US talk show host, Dave Skylark, played by James Franco and producer Aaron Rapoport, played by Seth Rogen host a celebrity tabloid show called Skylark Tonight. They get word that they are favorites of the most dangerous dictator in the world, Kim Jong-un of North Korea. Dave and Aaron decide to take advantage of this situation by conducting an interview with Kim, in North Korea. When the CIA gets wind of the interview, they decide to seize the opportunity by asking Dave and Aaron to assassinate Kim. The fun begins watching these 2 dim witted guys try to make this a reality. Dave gets lost in the propaganda which prevents him from getting the job done. On the…
If you don’t like how the movie progresses or ends, give the audience alternatives. A problem was presented in the beginning of the story. What followed were 3 different scenarios. Then it was all over. Lola played by Franka Potente, literally ran through each scenario. The first scenario was unpleasant every step of the way. While the audience holds out hope for the outcome, the story tells us otherwise. When we get to the finish line, it’s not necessarily what one would hope for. The 2nd scenario is more pleasing but ended badly, as did the 1st. The 3rd and last scenario is the most likely scenario, as it is more satisfying to the masses. This is a foreign film that takes place in Germany and is formated like the Electric Company, an old TV show for children that teaches choice and decision making. If I do this, that can happen but if I choose…
When I first encountered this series I thought the Missing would be about the Rapture like “Left Behind” or “The Leftovers”. To my surprise, The Missing is about a 5 year old boy they call Oliver (Oliver Hunt), who suddenly disappears from his father’s sight. The entire set up is done so well it caught and held my attention immediately. A couple on vacation with their 5 year old son in Paris were having the time of their lives when Tony Hughes played by James Nesbitt took his son swimming in a local pool. After drying off, Tony and his son Oliver went to get something to drink from the local, semi-quasi out-door pub. Because the soccer championship playoffs were in full swing, massive crowds were gathered anywhere a TV was on. Europeans are very passionate about soccer. There was barely standing room in the pub. The moment Tony let go of his son’s hand, Oliver disappeared. It happened…
