Pranav Agarwal has developed a solar-powered device that aerates the surface of stagnant water in order to prevent mosquitos from laying their eggs and therefore from proliferating.
Mosquitos like to lay their eggs in stagnant or still water — the females need the surface of the water to be still in order to deposit up to 400 eggs at a time and the larvae need to stay in contact with the surface of the water in order to breathe. The Solar Scare Mosquito aims to curb the spread of mosquito-carried diseases such as malaria and dengue by disrupting the insects’ breeding grounds. It works by sitting on the surface of the water and generating air bubbles at regular intervals to produce ripples in a radius of up to two metres.

For one, I love these new fairy tale fantasies. Into the Woods is well done. Into the Woods sort of reminds me of “Once Upon a Time”, which I watch on TV. There are a couple of similarities however, Into the Woods is big budget and brought to you by Disney. Need I say more. There’s not even too much more I can say about Meryl Streep except that she is a phenomenal actress. Into the Woods is a delightful musical fantasy that takes Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), Little Red Riding hood (Lilla Crawford) and Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and merges them together to make a new fairytale, with a twist. It all starts with the Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) that live in a house that was cursed many years ago. The witch (Meryl Streep) will reverse the curse if the baker…
It took a lot of focus to get into Wild, as I found it pretty boring at first. Reese Witherspoon is playing Cheryl Strayed a young wife, sister, daughter and substance abuser who is trying to get hold of her life by hiking, on her own volition, through the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Wild is based on the memoirs of Cheryl Strayed who’s life spiraled out of control when her mother died of Cancer and her marriage failed, causing Cheryl to lose all hope. The hike starts from the Mexican border through the Mojave Desert to the Canadian border, which she later changed to Oregon’s Bridge of the Gods. We see Cheryl wearing a monstrous nap sack on her back, heavier than Reese herself. The hike will take 3 months and cover more than 1,000 miles. There’s a lot of flash backs depicting Cheryl’s life with her family, including her…
