13 year-old Jaequan Faulkner started a hot dog stand business during the summer. Somebody snitched to the local health department. The health inspectors waived the permit fee and taught him proper food handling procedures.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Call them the Same New Jets.
The New York Jets have a new coach, a new general manager and pretty much a new everything, but their collapse Sunday was straight out of 2018, when they blew four fourth-quarter leads. Despite a plus-three turnover margin, they lost a game that was almost impossible to lose, falling to the Buffalo Bills, 17-16, after leading 16-0 in the third quarter. They fell apart in all phases. Couldn’t get a stop on defense. Couldn’t make a kick. Couldn’t throw downfield. It was a brutal way to open the season.
Describe the game in two words: Choke job. They lacked a killer instinct, especially on offense. There was no aggressiveness and no imagination.
Buy on a breakout performance: Le’Veon Bell scored a touchdown, a 2-point conversion and produced 92 total yards from scrimmage in his Jets debut, his first game in 20 months. Bell played the entire game, which is pretty impressive. He showed little rust and was particularly effective in the passing game. He scored on a 9-yard catch and made a terrific grab on a 2-point conversion.

Angelina Jolie may be a better actress and director, but Michelle Obama’s got her beat in one category — this year, at least. The former first lady beat out Jolie as the world’s most admired woman in an annual study conducted by online research firm YouGov.
Obama topped the list this year, while Jolie — who was first last year — came in third.
Oprah Winfrey was second.
Also included in the top 10 of most admired women are Queen Elizabeth II, actress Emma Watson, activist Malala Yousafzai and chemist Tu Youyou.

More than 10,000 people in Appalachia will sigh with relief this month after two donors from the region helped nonprofit RIP Medical Debt purchase and forgive $10 million of medical debt. But it’s just a drop in the bucket of the $88 billion of medical debt racked up in the United States over the past year.
“We’re going to get their current address and then there’s a special letter that’s going out to each of these people,” said RIP Medical Debt founder Craig Antico, who celebrated the fifth anniversary of the nonprofit Thursday. “It’s from the donors, and it’s going to tell them they’re part of a larger campaign. They’re going to get a letter in a yellow envelope that says this is a no-strings attached gift from people in the community.”
Antico said the $100,000 donation, which buys the $10 million debt for pennies on the dollar, came from two individuals — Jim Branscome, a former journalist who became the managing director of Standard & Poor’s Financial Services, and author and journalist Bill Bishop. The two men approached RIP Medical Debt in May and said they wanted to focus on Central Appalachia with their personal donation.

The New Jersey Devils continued their summer upgrade on Monday, trading a third-round pick in 2020 and a second-round pick in 2021 for left wing Nikita Gusev of the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Knights brought Gusev, 27, over from the Russian Kontinental Hockey League for the Stanley Cup playoffs last season, but he didn’t see any action. Gusev became a restricted free agent, and it became clear to Vegas that his asking price and their offer — reported to be $2 million apart — weren’t in sync.
“When you have a roster comprised of players who are deserving of a certain salary range, you are not always able to make room for everyone. This is the reality of having a good team in the salary-cap world,” said general manager George McPhee.
