Betrayal thy real name is thuggery-Police Officer is our only shield against it.

“Loving someone is giving them the power to break your heart, but trusting them not to.” Julianne Moore.
Once upon a time, not very long ago I witnessed a leopard frolicking with a tiny baby monkey on a dense branch of a tree. Baby monkey appeared petrified and scared, holding onto the branch as if he was glued to it. The leopard was cajoling and enticing the baby monkey to play with him and to trust him as a friend. Baby monkey could neither jump nor fly from the situation. All he could perceive was his fearful fate in the glaring eyes of the leopard, signaling the closing stages of his life. Eventually, the baby monkey lifted his tiny trembling finger to caress the leopard in a friendly, trusting way to alter the upshot. Like the strike of lightening, in a quick swipe of the leopard, the baby monkey vanished from the…

The sea has long captured the eye of photographers and painters, luring these curious voyagers to the open waters with its sublime beauty. With an ability to evoke both the epitome of tranquility and the peak of unfathomable danger, it’s no wonder the ocean is one of the art world’s most persistent muses.
Admittedly, it’s difficult to accurately frame the dynamic intensity of a crashing wave, but one family of 19th century photojournalists stumbled upon an aspect of the sea that seems to encapsulate both the horror and natural awe we feel before it. For nearly 130 years, the Gibsons and their descendants documented the wrecks of over 200 ships, snapping an impressive 1,000 negatives of battered boats and the tragic passengers who traveled aboard them.

The White House is not supposed to be a place for brokenness. Sheer, shattered, brokenness. But that’s what we experienced on the weekend of December 14, 2012.
I was sitting at my desk around midday on Friday the 14th when I saw the images flash on CNN: A school. A gunman. Children fleeing, crying.
It’s sad that we’ve grown so accustomed to these types of scenes that my first thought was I hope there are no deaths, just injuries. I thought, Maybe it’s your run-of-the-mill scare.
And then the news from Sandy Hook Elementary School, a small school in the tiny hamlet of Newtown, Connecticut, began pouring in. The public details were horrific enough: Twenty children murdered. Six staff. Parents searching a gymnasium for signs of their kids.

British Polish Artistic Alliance
October 26, 2013
Young British artists and Polish representatives of art involved in social and political issues believe that today’s art is not impressive. Nowadays, nothing surprises us. However, the “British British Polish Polish” exhibition in the Center of Contemporary Art at Ujazdów Castle includes an impressive 140 works of art by 64 British and Polish artists including Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Sarah Lucas together with Polish representatives of critical art like Katarzyna Kozyra, Paweł Althemer and Artur Żmijewski. What they all have in common is the fact that their artwork was popular in the late ’80s and early ’90s. They were like bombs that fractured the system. However, the Polish bombs had more local reach. The main exhibition at Ujazdów Castle is not only a wonderful collection that creates new contexts, but it also brings all these pieces of art together for the first time and makes them…
