Our tastebuds are forever in debt to dannyr.
The inquisitive Reddit user recently asked his fellow online travelers to complete this statement: “When you travel to ____, you HAVE to try the ___.” Presumably, the answers could have included all kinds of experiences. But of course they veered instantly toward the one thing that’s most important while traveling: the food.
Here are some of Reddit’s best recommendations, along with a few of our own favorites. Try them while you’re abroad– these regional dishes won’t taste better anywhere else on Earth.

Last week Yams, a collective of 38 mostly black and queer artists, withdrew their piece from the Whitney Biennial in protest of “Donelle Woolford,” an artwork in which a white male artist and Princeton professor creates a fictional black female artist named Donelle Woolford with the help of black actresses. The objection was the final straw in a Biennial that already featured only eight non-fictional black artists out of the 104 represented. As Walter Robinson explained: “the whiteness of the Biennial is its own punishment.”
No exhibition proves this point to be true like “Black Eye,” a Tribeca-based exhibition featuring 26 of the most electric black contemporary artists of the moment. In a dizzying variety of media, from a wide range of perspectives, the represented artists explore the complexities of identity while communicating the importance of real diversity in the art world…

Into the distance
house on the hill
Drawn towards
No power no will
Sorcery I cry
travel still
Heart aches
a desire to fulfil
Soul being ground
wheat in a mill
Flesh is burning
on a passion grill
Top of the summit
in madness I drill
Unable to find you
my search continues

A two head geese
Had a bad wheeze
Went to the vet
Wanted some release
Vet got scared
Seeing her sneeze
Don’t you worry
Geese said please
No one being harmed
We have come in peace
Vet gave her pills
Ceased her disease
Geese relieved
Paid vet’s fees
In old coins
And lots of cheese

X-Men: Days of Future Past is one of the better films in the X-Men series. It was clear, clean, crisp, entertaining and good story telling. Wolverine/ Logan, played by Hugh Jackman, is sent back in time, to 1973, in hopes of stopping an event that would eliminate a fatal future for the Mutants and Humans as well. As usual, the special effects are impeccable and the stellar cast, totally enjoyable. I was happy to see former X-men like Ororo Munroe/Storm (Halle Berry) and Jean Grey/Phoenix (Famke Janssen ) back in this episode. Jennifer Lawrence has played the role of Raven/Mystique in the last 2 films and is eye candy whether she’s in human or mutant form. The truly great surprise is Dr. Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones. I can’t say enough about Peter’s on screen presence and acting ability. He is magic in any role he plays…
