Ok, hands up who has been into space? No, me neither, but I have done some daft things in my day. And one of my most memorable things was being deep inside an ancient pyramid – obvious really, not many ‘modern’ ones around are there, doh.
It was around the time of the start of the Iraq War in late March 2003. I know that as Egypt was practically empty of tourists, most being ‘scared off’ travelling to the Middle East. Yeah right, as if London or NYC is exactly the haven of safety – but I kid you not, many places that were normally swarming with visitors we almost found to be all to ourselves – result! Thankfully, the British adventure travel company had not cancelled the trip, although a couple of last minutes dropper-outers did reduce our numbers from 16 to 14 as I recall – again, result!

A civet farm in Liwa, a town in Sumatra, where the catlike animals eat coffee cherries. Their droppings contain coffee beans fermented in their stomachs. 
The acting is a little funky but Gotham turned out to be a very good series. The story starts with the killing of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wayne. Master Bruce Wayne is still a young child played by David Mazouz (known for the series Touch) who is way ahead of his years. His role is minimal right now but we all know that he becomes Batman with his trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth played by Sean Pertwee who is raising him, at his side. Gotham is a complete mess. Crime and bribery everywhere, cheating, stealing, murder, you name it, Gotham has it. The police aren’t very effective because most of the cops are on the take along with most government officials. A new recruit and rookie detective named James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie seems to be one of the few straight cops left. He has vowed to find the Wayne’s murderer. Police Captain…
This highly anticipated mystery, How to Get Away with Murder “HTGAWM” is well worth the wait. Another Shonda Rhimes production is a huge success. The series is created by Peter Nowalk, who is also the executive producer along with Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers. There is so much mystery, suspense and thrills, you just can’t ignore your racing mind of thoughts that will have you “gone wild”. A brilliant practicing lawyer and professor uses her Philadelphia University, law students as well as her expertise as a lawyer to win cases. Her students have turned out to be quite worthy of investigating, finding motives and evidence, as well as unproven alibis and much more. The professor/lawyer named Annalise Keating played by Viola Davis presents all kinds of though provoking issues as she exercises her principle of getting her client off at any cost. She doesn’t care if they are guilty or not, as long as she is representing them, she will do…
I smell Oscar nominations here. The Judge goes deep into ones soul. I loved the way it wrapped up the ending and I loved the cast. Robert Downing, Jr. plays Hank Palmer, a hot shot lawyer from Chicago who has a reputation for winning his cases. When his mother dies, Hank is summoned back home where he hasn’t been for 20 years. He’s leaving his troubled home in Chicago where he has a cheating wife and a small daughter, arriving in his home town of Carlinville, Indiana where he has 2 brothers Glen Palmer (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Dale Palmer (Jeremy Strong) and a father, Judge Joseph Palmer (Robert Duvall) that makes up a dysfunctional family that he never speaks to. Hank expected his trip back home to be short but when his father is accused of murdering a convict he sentenced in his court years ago, Hank stays to defend him. Many paths are explored…
