It’s that time of year again: the first snow has fallen, the sun sets at 4:30, and Canada Goose jackets are filling Princeton’s campus.
The source of a lot of side-eyes and even memes, the Canada Goose jacket has somehow become a status symbol of the elite, and therefore, prevalent at Princeton. At the southernmost Ivy, where it has barely snowed twice the whole semester, it’s still almost guaranteed that you’ll see many of them hanging over seats in dining halls, libraries, and eating clubs. They are the subject of much debate between students — some shamelessly saving up for one of the coveted jackets, some ambivalent to the brand, others infuriated at the obscene show of wealth.
There seems to be no unified logic or argument about the jackets’ presence. In acknowledging the culture of wealth they perpetrate, are we supposed to attack our peers for owning them? Should students who can afford a $900-plus winter jacket feel ashamed? Does the fact that this issue is even a debate indicate how disconnected Princeton is from reality?

The Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians () are a range of mountains forming an arc throughout Central and Eastern Europe. About a century and a half ago, some Native American tribes of the Southwest used facial tattoos as spiritual rites of passage. Through a series of strange tragedies (and some possible triumphs), a white Mormon teenager who was traveling with her family through the area in the mid-19th century ended up sporting one too, a symbol of a complicated dual life she could never quite shake.

In Kenya, conservation is a cornerstone of the economy.
Kenya is a country of diverse, rich habitat. The humid broadleaf forests along the coast of the Indian Ocean give way to lush grasslands and savannas. The Kenya Lake System of the geologically dramatic Great Rift Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And, Mount Kenya — the nation’s namesake — is the second-tallest mountain on the continent.
A burgeoning service industry continues to grow in Kenya, and ecotourism plays a big part in East Africa’s strongest economy. Visitors flock to the country to see Africa’s “Big Five.” But, lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo are just a handful of the treasured species in this nation. Baboons, zebras, giraffes, flamingoes, and more are enjoyed by tourists, thanks to a strong national park system and a network of community conservancies.
Beyond the service sector, agriculture, forestry, and fishing account for over a quarter of Kenya’s gross domestic product. Raising livestock is popular in the savannas, and the country’s primary crop exports are coffee and tea. But, even with such fertile lands, overpopulation and a lack of infrastructure contribute to frequent food insecurity in Kenya.

Scania, Swedish: Skåne, is the southernmost province (landskap) of Sweden. Within Scania, there are 33 municipalities that are autonomous within the Scania Regional Council. Scania’s largest city is Malmö, which is also the third-largest in Sweden, as well as the fifth-largest in Scandinavia.
To the north, Scania borders the provinces of Halland and Småland, to the northeast Blekinge, to the east and south the Baltic Sea, and to the west Öresund. Since 2000, a road and railway bridge, the Øresund Bridge, bridges the sound to Denmark. Scania is part of the transnational Øresund Region.

In Italian, faraglioni (pronounced [faraʎˈʎoːni]; Neapolitan: faragliune [faraʝˈʝuːnə]; singular faraglione in both languages) are stacks, a coastal and oceanic rock formation eroded by waves.
The word may be derived from the Greek pháros or Latin pharus (“lighthouse”) and is cognate with the Spanish farallón.
They are found at the coasts of several regions of Italy:
