Announcements for the 2016 Grammy Awards nominees kicked off Monday morning in anticipation for the star-studded event in February. A list of the most highly coveted awards from the night was revealed on CBS This Morning, including album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best new artist. 

A song or album must have been released from Oct. 1, 2014, to Sept. 30 for consideration in the 58th Grammy Awards, which airs Feb. 15. This means some of the year’s best-selling albums, including Adele’s recent 25 — which continues to break records — didn’t make the cut, while Taylor Swift’s popular 1989 and Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color could be up for this year’s awards.
