I would be remiss if I didn’t start this mother day out with this painting

“Depth of Woman” as it is dedicated to the women in my life that have helped me become the man I am today.

As our society changes and the face of woman change throughout time and culture im saddened my how most of our

society views women on a cultural stand point. But on this day of mothers let us be reminded of their beauty, wisdom, strength and love

I had a horrid relationship with my mother ( sorry mom) for years true, ugly, bitter fact. It was only in my later years has that relationship

bloomed into a friendship and respect of motherhood. Granted nobody can turn back time and change they way things played out in any of our lives.

Today we give thanks for being born and to make that happen each…

As hope faded of finding any more survivors of Bangladesh’s factory collapse, Reshma Begum’s family cherished one modest prayer: that hers would be the next body to be excavated from the rubble so they could at least give her a decent burial.

Instead, Begum, 19, was brought back from the dead and hoisted on to a stretcher on Friday after rescuers saw her waving an aluminum curtain rail from a gap in the ruins where she had spent 17 days trapped in a lightless, tomb-like chamber.

When her brother, Zahidul Islam, 33, was led into the military hospital where his sister lay prone, but strong enough to mutter a few words, he was overwhelmed by tears.

“‘Brother don’t weep,’ Reshma told me,” Islam said in a telephone interview with Reuters.

As army doctors and officers looked on, Islam threw aside his inhibitions, stepped forward…

From shrinking seats to ever-dwindling in-flight amenities, the airline industry really earns its tightfisted reputation. But if you know what to ask for, you’ll find that in-flight offerings are not quite as stingy as they seem. We asked author and former flight attendant Beth Blair for her tips on the free extras and services only available to those who know to ask.

So next time you’re hit with a headache onboard or have a thirst that’s going to take more than a glorified Dixie cup of soda to quench, know you can ask for–and most likely receive–a little onboard assistance.

Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks.

Rescuers carry a survivor pulled out from the rubble of a building that collapsed in Saver, near Dhaka, Bangladesh, Friday, May 10, 2013. Rescue workers in Bangladesh freed the woman buried for 17 days inside the wreckage of a garment factory building that collapsed, killing more than 1,000 people. Soldiers at the site said…

Tired of paying for cable or satellite TV every month? It’s never been easier to cut the cord and get all of your programming over the Internet, either a la carte, through on-demand services, or via affordable subscription services like Netflix. The devices below can get you up and running in no time, and there’s a good chance you already have everything you need to get going (especially if you have a recent gaming console or laptop). Of course, not everything is available via the Internet, and some streaming services, such as HBO Go, require you to have a cable or satellite subscription. But more channels are online now than ever before, and even HBO makes hit shows like Game of Thrones available through services like iTunes.

A true story of 1950s happened in Chongqing, China.  A 20-year old villager Liu Guojiang fell in love for a widow, XuZhaoQing who is 10years older than him.  In order to avoid gossips from other villagers, they eloped to Jiangjin, a town 1500metres above sea level, deep in the woods, build a home of their own.

Liu Guojiang  spent 50 years alone, chipping over 20 over chisels to carve 6000 over steps of stairway for his wife.  This extra ordinary kind gesture of love is to facilitate his wife daily ascending and descending from their mountain habitat.

They live off their life in the forest by picking wild walnuts, dates and have a few vegetable farms.  The couple raise 7 children with whatever they have and spent half a century living in the mountains.

In 2006, media make a shooting of the 6000 steps and…

Jodi Ann Arias, a California native who testified she killed her ex-boyfriend in self-defense, was found guilty Wednesday of murder.

The eight-man, four-woman jury, which heard four months of testimony and final arguments, deliberated over four days before returning the verdict of first-degree murder. Arias, 32, could receive the death penalty.

Arias, wearing a black blazer and shirt, appeared to hold back tears as the guilty verdict was read. At one point, she turned to look at the gallery, where the family and friends of murder victim Travis Alexander were seated.

Five jurors voted Arias was guilty of premeditated murder and seven voted that she was guilty of premeditated felony murder.

Willie Jerome Manning, a 44-year-old black man, is scheduled to die by lethal injection on Tuesday for the 1992 kidnapping and murder of white college students Jon Steckler and Tiffany Miller in Mississippi. No physical evidence has ever linked Manning to the crime. And the Justice Department has just come clean that the FBI’s forensic science used to prosecute
Manning was fundamentally flawed.

A jury convicted Manning almost 20 years ago based on three kinds of circumstantial evidence. First was the testimony of his cousin and a jailhouse informant who claimed that he confessed the crime to them. The cousin had accused two other men before Manning, however, and the informant has since recanted altogether. Second were Steckler’s jacket, ring, and CD player from his car that Manning was arrested for trying to sell. Manning told police from the beginning that he had acquired…

Three women who went missing separately about a decade ago, when they were in their teens or early 20s, had been tied up but were found alive Monday in a residential area just south of downtown, and three brothers were arrested, police said.

One of the women told a 911 dispatcher the person who had taken her was gone, and she pleaded for police officers to come and get her, saying, “I’m free now.”

Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had been held since they went missing and were found earlier in the day.
