I  had hoped for a lot from” I’m in love with a church Girl” but…  If you’re going to show gangsters reformed, especially of their own accord, you have to get your facts straight and it has to be believable.  Whether it was due to a low budget or bad directing, this movie was corny, unconvincing and unbelievable.  If the addicting game of drug dealing were that easy to get out of, why do most stay in till death or life in prison?  I’m not saying it can’t be done but on the level this firm deals, it’s highly unlikely.  Additionally, who allows the DEA to work 24/7 on a potential drug bust that will only yield a couple of small fries?  In a time when there’s no money and eveything from education to jobs are in jeopardy, what budget is allocated for a low level drug bust using high level surveillance equipment?

A former drug dealer…

Had some brunch at Maggie Brown’s on Myrtle Avenue in good old Mother Brooklyn. Nice staff, great food, and one of the waiters was nice enough to compliment my napkin doodle rather than trying to rush me out so I’ll give them some props. Not sure what this is supposed to be but I enjoyed the process of making it. Enjoy this beautiful Spring day, some tea, and some doodling.

Because showing up in the abstract is all the rage! And be sure to bring along your matching striped duck while you drink from the finest English Abbey tea sets in the building. I’m currently centering my chi and drinking some Hibiscus tea at the best café in Brooklyn…in my apartment. I’m nesting a bit and working on summoning up my inner diva.

I’m an atheist first and Jew second, my wife and children have faith in g-d, I have faith in atheism. I respect their feelings and don’t contradict, condescend or debate with them regarding their faith. I like the food and traditions bound up with Judaism, I like the fact that there is no evangelising or trying to make people convert.

At shabbat, shul and high days, I can say the prayers, but they are just words, saying things doesn’t necessarily make you that thing (I can think of so many religious hypocrites who think the believe and follow at the same time as they are going against the tenants of their faith).

Anyway, I have a mate who is a committed Dawkinist atheist (sorry Prof. Dawkins you known its happening), he was a bit snotty about me going to shul, he harumphed saying I knew you were religious, I couldn’t…

Sunset at Godavri : The tourists from all over India make it a point to visit the Godavari to see the sunset. The gradual descending of the sun from the sky as its colour turns from bright yellow to a light tinge of orange is surely worth watching. You can also click lovely photographs on the banks of the river.

 

Before I begin to tell you about my trip, il start by listing a few do’s and don’ts for when it comes to travelling to New York.

Do:

• Everything – there is so much to do in New York – try and do as much as you can for as long as you can.
• Haggle. Always try and haggle street sellers – whether it be to see a Broadway show, bus tours or comedy, always try and get the $$$ down.
• Wear comfortable shoes/trainers. You are going to walk a LOT of miles in NYC and you don’t want to end up with blisters after the first day, because believe me, it hurts!!!!
• Take as many photos as possible. This may or may not be the only time you head to the ‘Big Apple’, make sure you capture all your memories on camera (as you’ll see by reading this blog…
