Where do these whispers come from? You know, the ones that scamper and gnaw around in our heads. Something someone said, or implied, or an unsettled way they made us feel. That’s what I call the ‘other words’ of a life. The stuff that we haven’t thought up ourselves, but somehow we’re pretty sure that others around us have thought about us.
………..Clear as mud?
Think about this one…I recently interviewed author Dan Conway about his interesting book written as an anecdotal/ semi-memoir / love letter to his departed family members. How’s that for genre bending? The premise of the book was fictional~ he awakes in a hospital bed unable to move or speak after hitting a deer on the highway. What happens from there is a series of out of body semi-lucid “visitations” from deceased loved ones as he lies helplessly drifting. These visitors are real people from the author’s life…

Looks like about a full moon on a clear night in this cool little city. It is pretty old and very historic as evident from the shown fort. I already posted a few photos from this place in the past, so it is probably fairly easy to figure out where it, just be browsing through 800+ of the posted photos… unless you just know where it is.

The images of so many houses destroyed, so many bomb blasts, even so many bodies wrapped in burial shrouds can begin to blur together, indistinguishable. But Belal Khaled, a young photojournalist and painter in this southern Gaza town, saw symbols and stories in the smoke all around him.
First, in a black cloud staining the bright blue sky above a beach, he saw hints of a prominent nose, thick mustache and wild hair, “like an old man contemplating the situation of Gaza,” Mr. Khaled said. Then, in a friend’s photograph of a taller, thinner plume, he saw a fist with the index finger extended, a gesture Muslims make when saying, “No God but Allah.” Using Photoshop, Mr. Khaled added a few simple lines to emphasize these hidden icons, and uploaded the artwork to Facebook, where it was shared and “liked” thousands of times.

When was the last time you braved the raging sea and its strong current? I did it in Caramoan and oops I did it again in this trip…
Our day started at 3am. From One Lourdes Dormitel, we were fetched by our Iloilo tour guide, Jeanne. Together with our other ‘tour mates’, we snored our 2.5 hour land travel to Carles, Iloilo to which we then reached Chateau de Aow and had our breakfast.
Approaching Isla Antonia
After breakfast, we went to the port and started our island hopping. I still couldn’t believe that we have braved the huge waves and strong current of the Pacific Ocean just to get to Islas de Gigantes. Mind you, it was a 2-hour boat ride before we reached our first island, Isla Antonia.

As a county grand jury prepared to hear evidence on Wednesday in the shooting death of a black teenager by a white police officer that touched off 10 days of unrest here, witnesses have given investigators sharply conflicting accounts of the killing.
Some of the accounts seem to agree on how the fatal altercation initially unfolded: with a struggle between the officer, Darren Wilson, and the teenager, Michael Brown. Officer Wilson was inside his patrol car at the time, while Mr. Brown, who was unarmed, was leaning in through an open window.
Many witnesses also agreed on what happened next: Officer Wilson’s firearm went off inside the car, Mr. Brown ran away, the officer got out of his car and began firing toward Mr. Brown, and then Mr. Brown stopped, turned around and faced the officer.
