The Solar Impulse 2 airplane flew into an Abu Dhabi sunrise on Monday to begin the first leg of what the $150 million project’s backers hope will be the first round-the-world flight powered by nothing but the sun.

Swiss engineer Andre Borschberg was at the controls of the single-seater plane for the Abu Dhabi-to-Oman flight, which began at about 7:12 a.m. local time (11:12 p.m. ET Sunday). The takeoff from Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen Executive Airport was 40 minutes late, due to technical glitches that the flight team had to resolve.

Dev Patel seems to be everywhere these days.  He is quite an actor.  In Chappie, played by Sharlto Copley, Dev plays Deon Wilson, a programmer who has become very successful creating robots that will serve as policemen in a heavy crime area.  Hugh Jackman plays Vincent Moore, another programmer who thinks his prototype is better than Deon’s but can’t get any play on his creation.  In the meanwhile, Deon has created a program, on his own time, that allows a robot to have a conscience, learn and think for himself.  When Deon pitches his program to Michelle Bradley (Sigourney Weaver) who is CEO of the company called Tetravaal, she shoots him down, even though it would cost her no money to test his new prototype.  This causes Deon to take matters into his hands by stealing a robot slated for demolition to use as a test pilot.  To add to…

Here’s more evidence that our workday really is a rat race.

Behold the Hamster Wheel Standing Desk by San Francisco-based artist Robb Godshaw and developer Will Doenlen. The creators say they built it as an alternative to the treadmill desk, and they even made their design instructions public, so you can build your own.

“The treadmill desk has become a fixture in a lot of Bay Area office scenes,” Godshaw told The Huffington Post. “The issues with treadmills are that you don’t set your own pace, and they’re not interesting as furniture.”

I’ve had such a case of writers block lately. I started a few different new post and just was never able to write more than a few sentences. But then i remembered my whole point with this blog is being open and honest and that maybe I shouldn’t overthink it and just write what comes to mind. So that’s what I’m just gonna do here..

It has made me a more open person , I feel more at ease doing things outside of my comfort zone and things that I would not typical do if I was living at home. OK – I have been putting this post off since the beginning of the month.  I really didn’t want to look back over the list of things I was supposed to do last month, but I don’t think I can leave it any longer.

I have had some winners, some ‘also rans’ and some that didn’t get past the post – the starting post that is.

There were many of you that were sceptical, and rightly so, at the length of my list, but that did actually spur me on even more to get out in the garden when it was cold and rainy and I really didn’t feel like it.

Scientists were baffled last July when they discovered three giant holes in the ground in the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia.

Now, with the help of satellite imagery, researchers have located four additional craters–and they believe there may be dozens more in the region. That has them calling for an urgent investigation to protect residents living in the area.

“I am sure that there are more craters on Yamal, we just need to search for them… I suppose there could be 20 to 30 craters more,” Prof. Vasily Bogoyavlensky, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and deputy director of the Moscow-based Oil and Gas Research Institute, told The Siberian Times. “It is important not to scare people, but to understand that it is a very serious problem and we must research this.”

A 28-year-old man is facing assault charges after allegedly hitting Willie Frances Robinson, his 92-year-old girlfriend.

Thomas Standley was arrested on Wednesday after an incident on Tuesday night at the home he shares with his girlfriend.

Robinson’s daughter, Patricia Haynes, who lives next door, called police after she heard her mother screaming, “Let go of me, you’re hurting me.”
