Europe’s Airbus Group will design and build about 900 satellites for privately owned OneWeb Ltd, which plans to offer high-speed, space-based Internet access to billions of people worldwide, company officials said on Monday.
About 700 of the satellites, each of which will weigh less than 330 pounds (150 kg), will be launched into orbit around Earth beginning in 2018. The rest will stay on the ground until replacements are needed, said OneWeb, based in Britain’s Channel Islands.
Bankrolled in part by Richard Branson’s London-based Virgin Group and chipmaker Qualcomm Inc, the project will cost between $1.5 billion and $2 billion, OneWeb founder and Chief Executive Officer Greg Wyler said.

The more I postpone the worse I feel more bottled up more unreal I hate that weakness this subjection of will avolition of thought and desire a stateless person in a stateless mind can’t transcend the heaviness of my lazy being the need of correctness is driving me mad the empty days are followed by nights
For the third time in the last six years — and for the first time in Chicago since 1938 — the Blackhawks ascended to the top of the NHL, beating Tampa Bay 2-0 on Monday night in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, winning the series four games to two.
Tonight’s game was, like every game this series, a thrilling affair with little separating the two teams. While the final didn’t go the full seven games and failed to feature a single overtime, the Bolts and ‘Hawks combined for one of the most tightly-contested championship series the NHL’s seen in a long time.
Perhaps that’s why it took a special play from a special player to decide it.
Acting under a rarely used provision of Ohio state law, a judge found probable cause Thursday to charge Cleveland police Officer Timothy Loehmann with murder in the fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice last year.
Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Ronald Adrine also found cause to support negligent homicide charges against Officer Frank Garmback, Loehmann’s partner, who is accused of standing by after Loehmann shot Tamir in November at a recreation center, where Tamir was playing with a pellet gun.
Adrine agreed with local activists known as the “Cleveland 8” who took the unusual step of independently seeking charges because, they said, they’d lost confidence in the grand jury investigation.

Last fall, I wrote about a young man named Kalief Browder, who spent three years on Rikers Island without being convicted of a crime. He had been arrested in the spring of 2010, at age sixteen, for a robbery he insisted he had not committed. Then he spent more than one thousand days on Rikers waiting for a trial that never happened. During that time, he endured about two years in solitary confinement, where he attempted to end his life several times. Once, in February, 2012, he ripped his bedsheet into strips, tied them together to create a noose, and tried to hang himself from the light fixture in his cell.
In November of 2013, six months after he left Rikers, Browder attempted suicide again. This time, he tried to hang himself at home, from a bannister, and he was taken to the psychiatric ward…
Many moons ago, a small space probe named Philae skipped across the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko when the lander’s harpoon-like anchoring mechanism failed. It came to rest in a shady spot and, without enough sunlight to keep it powered, it fell asleep after about 60 hours of operation.
Mission scientists had been trying to pinpoint its location since November — until late Saturday.
At 10:28 p.m., the European Space Agency’s operations center in Darmstadt, Germany, just south of Frankfurt, received a signal from Philae, which transmitted more than 300 data packets. Those have been analyzed at the Lander Control Center at the German Aerospace Center, which dubbed Philae’s emergence from its seven-month slumber a “‘hello’ from space.”
Just in time for World Oceans Day, an underwater luxury hotel called Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel is now featuring a single underwater guestroom. The hotel, which is still in its planning and fundraising stage, plans to give the proceeds that they raise to a coral reef restoration funding project.
Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel is based near Key West, Florida and features a pod-style room, which is accessed via an underwater elevator. It includes a “King Neptune” bed, a bathroom with a shower, an Italian leather love seat, an HDTV, air conditioning, adjustable LED lighting, underwater Wi-Fi and room service.
I think that this is such a cool idea and I for one can’t wait to go! So much so that I signed up on their website to win a free stay for me and my boyfriend lol. Check out their website at http://www.planetoceanunderwaterhotel.com for more info. Until next time,
When you go shopping for shoes, you try them on. Before you buy a new suit, you also try it on. When you are in the market for a new car, I’m willing to bet you take it for a test drive. These are all relatively important decisions that you will make, mostly on a financial level. While it is difficult to trust a car salesman or even perhaps the man at the shoe store telling you that the pair you have picked out will be the “most comfortable pair of shoes you’ve ever worn”, for some reason when people undergo cosmetic surgery, they are fine leaving their future looks in the hands of a stranger.
Sure, there is much more extensive education required, and guidelines that must be followed when you go to school to become a plastic surgeon, especially when compared to someone looking at a career in automobile sales, but still thousands of individuals undergo the surgical knife every month in hopes of altering their looks for the better. While most of these surgeries turn out well, at least in the eyes of the patient — I must admit I’m no fan of football sized lips or breasts the size of watermelons — there are some patients who end up disappointed with their results.

Who was the genius who came up with all of that? The internet is such a crucial tool in our daily lives today that we hardly remember that it hasn’t been here forever. But yeah, it is actually not that old. We still have fuzzy memories about the time before the first thing in the morning was to check email and browse our favorite blogs and Utube channels. Well, let’s explore how the internet came into existence and why.
