Scientific Genius And An Atmosphere That Facilitates Innovation

Rare and Iconic Photos of Einstein

” Ask anyone to name an iconic scientist and most people will say Albert Einstein. He was his generation’s greatest physicist as well as an international celebrity and humanitarian. Many people can tell you at least something about his renowned Theory of Relativity, though the details probably elude them right now.

Einstein’s fame extends to pop culture, where photos of the eminent scientist can be seen plastered on mugs, t-shirts, postcards, and internet memes. Though many images are well known — Einstein framed by his wild hair sticking his tongue out at the camera — there are still a good number that rarely see the light of day.

In honor of the 90th anniversary of Albert Einstein winning the Nobel Prize in physics, we are presenting a collection of photographs — some…

GAZA, Nov 19 (Reuters) – Even as neighbours picked through the rubble of their destroyed house for survivors, the stunned Dalu family arrived at Gaza’s main hospital on Monday to collect the bodies of nine relatives for burial.

“Is this your wife?” asked a medic inside the morgue.

“Ahh, what happened to your face sweetheart?” her husband said, weeping and collapsing into the arms of his spouse. The woman’s face was burnt beyond recognition.

California has joined its fellow 49 states in politely petitioning the White House to secede from the union.

Since President Barack Obama’s re-election last week, those unhappy with that outcome across the land have taken advantage of the We The People website (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov), that allows citizens to post petitions on just about anything that bugs them.

Established by — and supply however much irony you care to here — the Obama administration, the site promises that “Every petition that crosses the 25,000 signature threshold is reviewed and receives a response,” according to White House spokesman Brandon D. Lepow.

This volume provides a review of Israel’s unprecedented and careful consideration of questions of international law when forced to go to war to defend its civilian population from attack, with a particular focus on the Gaza war of 2008-2009. It concludes that existing international law permits a nation to act in self-defense, and that Israel gives more thought to upholding the laws of war during its military operations than any other nation in history.

Children of the Porn?

Porn. noun – creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire

One day I was working on my computer in class when I discovered that one of the websites that I often use for information and research was blocked by our school’s security system. Ever since our school became wired for the internet our school’s security system was often being modified by our computer systems supervisor in an attempt to keep students from accessing certain internet sites that were deemed inappropriate by either members of the Board of education or the supervisor himself. This however was one site that I had found very useful and I was becoming extremely frustrated at my no longer being allowed access.

Within a few minutes, a student who must have been sensing my frustration, came to my aid…

Germans see the US election as a battle between the good Obama and the evil Romney. But this is a mistake. Regardless of who wins the election on Tuesday, total capitalism is America’s true ruler, and it has the power to destroy the country.

NEW ORLEANS After graduating from Xavier University with a 4.0 average in both chemistry and pre-med, Asia Matthew went looking to beat the odds. She wanted to enroll at the prestigious University of Massachusetts Medical School in a selective, eight-year program where you concurrently earn a PHD and MD.

It’s a rigorous program where you earn the doctor’s degree simultaneously with a PHD in biomedical research.

However, only the best get in. Hundreds apply and the school annually interviews only 40. From that group, between seven and ten are chosen. I was nervous, she admitted. It’s hard not to be. This is the one thing that I’ve wanted for a long time and when you see it almost at your fingertips, you don’t want to do anything to let it slip. Asia beat the odds and got accepted, a great…

TO AFRICAN AMERICANS WHO HAVE DECIDED NOT TO VOTE!

OUR ANCESTORS WHO FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT ARE HAPPILY RESTING IN PEACE BECAUSE THEIR VICTORY IS REALIZED TODAY.  BY EXERCISING OUR RIGHT TO VOTE, WE ARE SHOWING AMERICA WE HAVE A VOICE, A STRONG VOICE.  MAKE OUR ANCESTORS PROUD,  V O T E!

Pastors who told their congregations not to vote because of Obama’s personal endorsements, think about this:  Obama is the president of the people, which includes all people (you know, like we’re all GOD’s children).  He’s not the president of the church.  THAT’S YOUR JOB!

Also ponder this:  Obama’s endorsements only matter to the folks he has reached out to since he can’t change the laws regarding gays or abortion anyway.  Gay rights and abortions are state issues.

YOU ALL NEED TO GET OUT AND SUPPORT PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR…

Our American endorsement

Which one?

America could do better than Barack Obama; sadly, Mitt Romney does not fit the bill

FOUR years ago, The Economist endorsed Barack Obama for the White House with enthusiasm. So did millions of voters. Next week Americans will trudge to the polls far less hopefully. So (in spirit at least) will this London-based newspaper. Having endured a miserably negative campaign, the world’s most powerful country now has a much more difficult decision to make than it faced four years ago.
