Sigh. Have you ever had one of those days where your bed is the only thing you want to see? Not your kids, your husband, your annoying mother in law. Just you and your bed!

It’s been a long day for you. 9hrs + at work and all you can think about is kicking off your shoes and relaxing. You shut down and straighten your work place and grab your keys to go. You drag your feet sluggishly to your car. As soon as your inside your car you slouch on to the seat and place your head on to the window. You think to yourself “I’m only 15 minutes away from my bed counting traffic It’ll be 20 min. Okay that’s not bad. Pick yourself up. You can do. Just sit up and drive.” After your pep talk you find yourself heading home. Parking your car and shutting your…

When it comes to the quality of health care, there are two Americas.
In one America, infant mortality, avoidable deaths, health-care costs and other measures are far worse than in the other America, according to a new study by the Commonwealth Fund, a health policy research firm. And thanks to Republican lawmakers and the Supreme Court, the gulf between them may only get wider.

Health officials on Friday confirmed the first case of an American infected with a mysterious virus that has sickened hundreds in the Middle East.
The man fell ill after flying to the U.S. late last week from Saudi Arabia where he was a health care worker.
He is hospitalized in good condition in northwest Indiana with Middle East respiratory syndrome, or MERS, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Indiana health officials, who are investigating the case.

In this photo provided by the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a colorized transmission of the MERS coronavirus that emerged in 2012 is pictured. (AP Photo/National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases via The Canadian Press)

Pitiful State

Shifa Naseer

I thought it over and I thought again

So many people labelled me so

I wonder why?

Do they not like my answers?

Or do I not say what they want to hear?

I hurt and I grieve that I have to prove

Everytime!

That the voice is true, what I say is true!

Why dont you believe me?

Why is it that you dont trust me?

Am I not good enough?

Do I not deserve a benefit of doubt?

I would say all this out loud

But all you would say is “Dont lie!”

Now the voice just died inside, It will never be heard again.

Ended yet another day, another flaw in my plan

I am not a liar, I say

You dont believe me,

So I save it for another day.

I let you shout and I let you growl

I will not be there to hear…

Need For Solitude

May 6, 2014

Shifa Naseer

I tried my luck, I made some friends.

I thought it was okay to let my feelings known.

I said it out loud every time, I made it clear every time

What I felt, what I believed.

I said it then, I say it now

But its unbelievable to those who are my friends

A little bit of trust they cannot invest

I am an independent quantity

I don’t need company

I am better off alone than being falsely accused

There is a need for solitude in me

A need to find myself under the load of blames and lies

Solitude is bliss,

Something that I had heard and now I know.

I will fade and forever leave,

Hastily in to the darkness unseen

Around the world If you turn to find me

To bring me back to you

Even if you do it again and again

You will face…

If Mickey Mouse is feeling his age at 86, scientists may have found just the tonic: the blood of younger mice.
Older mice got stronger, exercised longer and performed better mentally after they were injected with blood from young mice, or even just with a substance that’s more abundant in younger blood.
Someday, if more research goes well, this may lead to a way to treat some infirmities of old age in people. In the meantime, scientists have a warning for do-it-yourselfers.

The woman credited with foiling a Columbine-style attack at a Minnesota school nearly approached the suspicious teen she saw trudging across her backyard — but she said Friday she’s relieved her cousin urged her to call the police instead.
Chelsie Schellhas, 21, was washing dishes when she spotted John David LaDue, 17, cutting through her muddy backyard to get to a nearby storage facility.
“This person is either breaking in or he is staying the night there,” Schellhas said she thought after watching LaDue fiddle with the storage unit lock for 10 minutes. “Turns out he was making bombs instead,” she said.
