Heart-Wrenching Photos Capture One Man’s Struggle With Schizophrenia
July 27, 2014
Huffpost Arts
Photographers are often praised for the visual acuity — their ability to capture both the subtle and sensational beauty living amongst us. But it’s not just their penchant for aesthetic that we should celebrate, it’s photographers’ knack for story telling in its rawest form that makes series like Julia Cybularz’s “The Mathematician” truly compelling.
The homage to Cybularz’s cousin, a Polish emigre named Slawek Kosmala who’s been living with schizophrenia for over 20 years, is a touching documentary-like project that tells — without words — the story of single man’s life experience. Slawek can be seen laying against an aging tree trunk or staring at a sleeping family family member, as Cybularz crafts portraits that penetrate his lonesome exterior.
“I was inspired by Slawek’s unique perspective of the world and his positive approach to his significant challenges,” Cybularz explained to HuffPost. “Slawek…

Do’s and dont’s for #shiny white #teeth
July 25, 2014
Rohidas Vitthal Sanap: Web Developer/Designer
Taking right care for your teeth is essential not only to keep them in good health but also to keep them bright and shiny. And there are only few simple do’s and dont’s that can give you a bright smile.
Don’t:
Avoid baking soda as much as you can. While it might be good for many things, it starts to remove the enamel from the teeth resulting in yellowness.
Avoid fruits and other foods that have dark color pigmentation. Food items like soy sauce, marinara sauce etc have dark pigmentation that can stain your teeth.
Avoid drinking those much marketed energy drinks. They are not as good as they tell you, especially for your teeth. The acids they contain have eroding effects which can remove the whitening from your teeth.
Do’s:
Keep your toothbrush updated. Replacing…

SEX TAPE (2014) – My rating: 7.5/10
July 24, 2014
A nice, funny summer comedy. I expected Sex Tape to be stupid and unfunny. Despite my feelings, I laughed by tutus off. Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz were hilariousness as a husband and wife team (Jay and Annie Hargrove) who had an extremely active sex life before, during and after marriage. However, two kids later, their sex life was practically none existent. So, to spice up their sex life again, they decided to make a personal sex tape that was accidentally sent to everyone who had an Ipad that was gifted to them by Annie or Jay. The fun begins when they try to retrieve the Ipads that houses the sex video. Cameron Diaz has a fantastic body for her age — she really stays in shape. For an “R” rated movie, they showed as much as they could without having to be rated X. Jason Segel also has a fantastic physique for those who like…

Google Glass Can Now Empty Your Wallet When You Nod
July 23, 2014

Mobile payment systems like Isis promise a world where paying for something is as easy as waving your cellphone over a store terminal. But what if all you had to do was nod?
That’s the promise of Eaze, a Google Glass app launching in beta on Friday that lets Glass users hook up a virtual Bitcoin wallet to make payments. You first activate Eaze with a voice command, TechCrunch reported; then, use Glass’ camera to scan a QR code that the store will provide. A double nod completes the transaction.
It’s all very clever and convenient, although Eaze obviously requires that the store accept Bitcoin. If it does, the clerk will be able to generate the code and present it to the Glass wearer on a tablet or other display. The retailer doesn’t need to support Eaze specifically; the QR codes are the same as…

The Worst Places On The Planet To Be A Worker
July 22, 2014
Huffpost Business
Where are the worst places on the planet to be a worker?
A new report by the International Trade Union Confederation, an umbrella organization of unions around the world, sheds light on the state of workers’ rights across 139 countries. For its 2014 Global Rights Index, the ITUC evaluated 97 different workers’ rights metrics like the ability to join unions, access to legal protections and due process, and freedom from violent conditions. The group ranks each country on a scale of 1 (the best protections) to 5 (the worst protections).
The study found that in at least 35 countries, workers have been arrested or imprisoned “as a tactic to resist demands for democratic rights, decent wages, safer working conditions and secure jobs.” In a minimum of nine countries, murder and disappearance are regularly used to intimidate workers.

Scrubs Day
July 21, 2014
So yesterday I did something medical.
I attended a “Scrubs Day” course at Manchester University organised by FastBleep Schools and first things first it was so tiring (8:30am-5pm and I had like four hours sleep) but extremely informative and useful, like really useful.
And we also got given scrubs to wear and I deeply regret not getting a picture with my scrubs on *sad face*
The main reason the day was really good was because the sessions and talks weren’t just the typical “How to apply to university” or “Make your personal statement look good” but instead they included the essential points to focus on in your personal statement not the wishy washy stuff, the life of a doctor after graduation, the whole of spectrum options for a doctor after completing their F1 and F2 years and an insight in to problem based learning.
PERSONAL STATEMENT:
Professor Brian…
