An act of kindness by four young brothers has kept a 75-year-old woman from going to jail.
When the grass on Gerry Suttle’s lawn reached a height of 18 inches, a notice was supposedly issued asking her to appear before a judge. An ordinance for the city of Riesel, Texas, where Suttle lives, states that the “growth of weeds and grass may not exceed 18 inches.”
But Suttle never got the notice — she says it was never delievered — and a warrant for her arrest was issued, local news station KWTX reports.
