Paris city officials started removing hundreds of thousands of “love locks” yesterday from Pont Des Arts bridge. What became a symbol of undying love between couples, who travel from all over the world to fasten a lock onto the bridge then throw the key into the River Seine, is now no more. Not only are they removing the locks from Pont Des Art, they are also removing them from the Pont de l’Archeveche, which is near the Notre Dame cathedral. When I first heard about this I was a bit shocked and sadden because in the back of my mind I always wanted to do this (with my future husband of course).
