When this 99-pound loggerhead sea turtle was hit by a boat propeller, his jaw–as well as his life–was left hanging by a thread.
A sea turtle’s beak is instrumental in hunting for food. Without it, he would have been unable to feed himself and probably starved to death.
Luckily, the turtle was pulled out of the water before it was too late. He was transported to a rescue center in Turkey where 3D-printing company BTech Innovation scanned his injured head and created a prosthetic beak made of medical grade titanium.
