As the world observes Human Rights day on December 10th 2014, the United Nations, under the slogan “Human Rights 365”, has called nations of the world to remember that every day is human rights day. Hence, this date marks a special occasion not just to celebrate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), but also to evaluate what we as individuals and as society are doing to protect and enforce collective human rights every single day of the year.

Proclaimed in 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, the UDHR became the first global manifestation on the topic of universal human rights.
