After widespread backlash broke out in response to Zoe Saldana’s casting in the forthcoming biopic of iconic jazz singer Nina Simone, the 34-year-old actress has finally broke her silence on the controversy.

During a pre-Oscar event last weekend, entertainment website HipHollywood.com caught up with Saladana as she shared her thoughts on how she has dealt with the negative comments surrounding her upcoming role.
