Our fear of aging is emphasized by no other than Hollywood. One need only look at the movie poster for “Parental Guidance” currently playing in North America. The two actors in the role of grandparents have no wrinkles, lines, nor sagging skin. One is 64 and the other is 67. From my perspective, their appearance, as captured in the movie poster, is beyond natural.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m a firm believer in “look good, feel good”, and I practise taking good care of my health including my skin. My intent is not to “slam” the actors for using surgical enhancements or cosmetic procedures. My purpose is to make apparent that the fear of aging causes us to go to great lengths to remove it, even at the cost of looking “bizarre”.
